It can be difficult to keep short hair out of your face while still looking stylish. There are many ways to keep your hair back, from a braid to a hair accessory.Pick a style and enjoy your new look, there are quick fixes when you're on the go, as well as more elaborate updos.
Step 1: Hairs going along your part can be contained with a center braid.
This is a cute way to pull back your hair.Take the section of hair that begins at your forehead and place it on top of your part.Begin braiding your hair, going towards the back of your head and stopping at your crown.Pull hair into the braid and hold it together using a hair elastic. If you want to finish the look, pull the rest of your hair section into a bun towards the back of the head instead of tying it back in an elastic.
Step 2: It's braided.
Start with a section of hair closest to your face.If you braid your hair towards your ear, you will be able to gather more hair into the braid as you go.When you reach the end of the strand, secure it with a hair elastic or bobby pin.It will look like a headband when you finish your braid.Thin braids should be created on either side of the middle part of your face.
Step 3: Do a waterfall braid
A waterfall braid is very similar to a regular braid, but instead of braiding all three strands consistently, you drop one strand as you go along. The waterfall braid starts with a section of hair closest to your face. The waterfall braid will wrap around your head, you can either create a short one that stops behind your ear or continue the braid all the way around to the other ear.To keep the waterfall braid in place, tie it off with hair elastic. As you braid your hair along the side of your head, keep gathering new hair and adding it to the braid.
Step 4: Make tight French braids.
You have to separate your hair into two separate parts.Pull your hair tightly as you braid the part.Attach your French braid pigtails with a hair elastic.
Step 5: If you want a cute look, put your hair into two space buns.
Before securing your mini pigtails with hair elastics, you need to separate the top half of your hair.Tease each pigtail with a comb to give it some volume and twist them around in circles on top of the hair elastic to create mini buns.As you secure the mini bun on your head, hold it in place with hair elastics and pins.If one of your buns is sticking up more than the other, pin the hair down using a bobby pin.
Step 6: To create a half bun, gather the top half of your hair.
Pull the top half of your head out.Pull the strand of hair through the elastic and then twist it.If you want to create a bun, pull your hair through the elastic halfway. The bottom half of your hair should be loose. It's a great style for when you need a quick fix.
Step 7: You can put a pompadour on top of your head.
A clump that's about 3–4 inches wide is created when you gather a section of hair on top of your head.If you want to secure the section on top of your head with bobby pins, twist it once and use them to do it.You can create the pouf by twisting the section of hair on your head. Before twisting the clump, smooth it out with your hands or a brush.
Step 8: Pull back the hairs on your face.
Pull your hair back behind your ear or against your head if you want it out of your face in a hurry. If you want to keep your look in place, position the bobby pin horizontally across the section of hair you have.If you want a more decorative look, add a barrette.Make sure the hair doesn't come out and get in your eyes by using as many bobby pins as you can.
Step 9: If you want to hide short hairs, twist your hair.
This is an elegant way to keep short hair out of your face.Take a small section of hair near the front of your face and twist it around your head.Continue twisting until you reach the end of the strand and use a pin to secure it.If you want to keep the strand in place, you need to slide the pin into your hair.If you have a center part, you can twist both sections of hair on either side.
Step 10: Use a clip to keep your hair out of your face.
Pick out a clip thick enough to hold back your hair type, like a bulkier clip for thicker hair or small clips for thin hairTo hold larger sections of hair out of your face, use the clip. You can pull 2 inches of hair on either side of your face to the back of the head to hold them in place. You can secure a section of hair on your head by pulling it to the side of your face.
Step 11: You can hide strays by pulling a headband over the front of your hair.
You don't have to put in a lot of effort to add a little color or style to your outfit with headbands.Either slide a headband on to pull back the front of your hair, or opt for a stretchy headband that wraps around your head to keep your hairs in place.Pick a headband that goes with your outfit.Plastic or metal headbands are good for keeping the short hairs out of your face, while a cloth or elastic headband is great for covering up the hair on your head.
Step 12: A bandana can be used as a headband.
You can either wear the bandana over your hair in a triangle shape or roll it up into a log shape to wrap around your head.If you want the knot to be seen, tie the ends of the bandana at the nape of your neck. Both styles are great for keeping short hairs out of your face.
Step 13: You can tie a scarf around your hair.
You can use scarves to make your hair look more elegant.Wrap a square scarf around your head and put it in a long log form.To complete the look, tie the scarf in a loose knot or bow under your hair at the nape of your neck. The ends of the scarf can be used to create a bow.
Step 14: To slick your hair back, comb through it.
A flexible gel that won't make your hair look stiff is a good choice. You can apply the gel to your hair by squeezing it out of your hands. If you want your hair to stay in place, use a comb to spread the gel out in a certain way.You can find a hair gel at your local big box store.
