Do you like the pan pizzas they serve at Pizza Hut?When you're in the mood for a slice, don't have to head out to the restaurant or call for delivery. If you have the right ingredients and patience, you can recreate the Pizza Hut pan pizza taste in your home.
Step 1: In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, yeast, water, and oil.
In a large bowl, combine bread flour, kosher salt, instant yeast, and water. You can mix the ingredients with your hands, but make sure no dry flour remains. To account for the rising, make sure your bowl is at least 4 to 6 times the size of the mixture.
Step 2: Allow the dough to rest in the bowl.
Once the dough ingredients are combined, cover the bowl with plastic wrap, making sure to seal it around the edges.Allow the dough to rest at room temperature for 8 to 24 hours. To keep the dough from sticking to the plastic, spray it with a cooking spray. The dough will fill the entire bowl when it rises.
Step 3: Make two balls out of the dough.
Transfer your dough to a work surface after it's risen.By folding the dough under itself and rotating it, you can form each piece into a ball.Sprinkle some flour on the dough itself, as well as your hands, when you flour your counter or other work surface. Two pizzas are made from this recipe. If you only want to make one, place the other ball of dough in a container. It can be in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Step 4: Place a ball of dough into the pans.
Take two cake pans and pour olive oil into them.Turn the dough balls over in the oil to make sure they are completely coated. You can also bake the pizza with cast iron skillets.
Step 5: The dough should be put in place.
You can flatten the dough in the pans by using the palm of your hand.As you work, make sure that the oil spreads so that it covers the bottom and sides of the pans.
Step 6: Allow them to sit.
When the dough is put in the pans, cover them with a piece of plastic wrap. The dough will rise once again if they sit out at room temperature for 2 hours. Before placing the plastic wrap over the pans, make sure to grease it with cooking spray.
Step 7: The oven rack needs to be adjusted to preheat the oven.
The oven needs to be hot enough to bake pizzas as you wait for the dough to rise.It should be 500 degrees Fahrenheit (260 degrees Celsius).Place the oven rack in the center position. It is important to know how your oven indicates the correct temperature. Many models flash a light to let you know that the oven is preheating.
Step 8: Let the tomato sauce and spices sit.
While the dough is rising, mix a can of tomato sauce, a small amount of dried oregano, and some dried basil. The flavors have to be fully melded before the mixture is allowed to sit for an hour.If you prefer, you can make your own pizza sauce.
Step 9: To pop bubbles, check the risen dough.
When the pizza dough has risen for 2 hours, it should fill the pan to the top.If there are large bubbles in the dough, pop them with a knife.Lift an edge and allow the dough to escape. All the way around the pizzas, repeat the process.
Step 10: The sauce should be spread over the dough.
When the dough is ready, pour half of the sauce over each pizza. To spread it over the dough, use the back of a spoon. If you prefer, you can spread your sauce all the way to the edge of the dough.
Step 11: Season the sauce with salt after covering it with mozzarella.
Once the sauce is spread across the pizza, spread 1 cup of cheese over it.Sprinkle a pinch of kosher salt over the pizzas. You can add up to 1 12 cups of cheese to your pizza.
Step 12: You can add your own choices.
You can add whatever you want with the cheese on the pizzas. All or part of the pizza can be topped with cooked sausage, meatballs, onions, olives, mushrooms, and peppers.Extra mozzarella cheese can be added to the topping for even more cheese.
Step 13: The pizzas should be placed in the oven and baked.
Place the pans side by side on the center oven rack when the pizzas are fully assembled.Allow them to bake until the cheese is bubbling and the crust is golden brown, which will take 15 minutes.Ensure that the pizzas don't burn as you get closer to the end of the cooking time.
Step 14: While the pizzas are still hot, sprinkle them with parmesan cheese.
Take the pizzas out of the oven and spread a pinch or two of cheese over them. The cheese will melt into the other ingredients if the pizzas are still hot.If you want to add some flavor to your pizza, you can sprinkle crushed red pepper on them.
Step 15: If the pizza is crisp, check the bottom.
When the pizzas have cooled, use a spatula to lift an edge and look at the bottom. You can slice it if it is crisp. If the bottom isn't done, put the pan on a stove burner set to medium and allow it to heat until it's crisp, which will take 1 to 3 minutes. If you are crisping the bottom of the pizza on the stove, make sure to move the pan around so it heats evenly and doesn't burn.
Step 16: Cut the pizzas from the pans.
Lift the pizzas from the pans with a spatula.Use a knife or pizza cutter to cut them into 6 to 8 slices.
Step 17: Finished.
