All BT devices use 2.4GHz radio frequency—which does not work well in water. This is due to laws of physics, as water molecules attenuate the signal. When any Bluetooth device is put underwater, the range is just few inches. Also, Bluetooth is a low-power system and the range in air is about 30ft/10m.

WiFi still doesn't work under the water so you can not directly stream music while swimming. You have to download them before you go into the water. The Bluetooth also doesn't allow you to pair it with a phone or computer. WiFi or an analog USB cable are the only ways to load music onto it.
Can I listen to Spotify while swimming?
You will need the Spotify Premium subscription to enable the offline play. On the Spotify watch app - select the 'destination' as Apple Watch (see the screen shots below) and have your H2O Interval paired with the watch directly. Pick your playlist, clip the watch on your Interval and jump in!
Can you listen to music while underwater?
