Why did my oven stop working, and why does my stove work, but the oven doesn't?
The stove top is malfunctioning. These are some of the reasons for the problems.
Before opening the oven, changing or replacing parts, or spending a couple of hundred dollars on a repair technician, do a quick check of it.
Our technicians are always available to help you fix your appliance.
If you have done the manual check of your electric oven and everything is where it needs to be, you will want to consider a few additional problems that might be causing it to malfunction.
If you have recently used SELF-CLEAN mode on your oven and then after that, neither bake or broil doesn't work, most likely your thermal fuse just burnt out.
The oven's temperature is monitored by a temperature sensor.
The oven might stop working altogether if the sensor isn't working.
To make sure that the problem is not caused by the digital sensor, first check to see if all wires are connected correctly.
If the oven does not have a digital sensor, there is a bulb that controls the temperature.
If the bulb is loose or burnt out, adjust or replace it, and this will likely resolve the issue.
If your oven fails to operate, you might want to check the thermostat switch. The switch.
Replacement of faulty parts will usually get your oven to work again.
The most likely cause of an oven not heating is that one or more of the heating elements are malfunctioning.
Electric ovens have heating elements. If the element is not working, it will glow a bright red, indicating it is burnt out and needs to be replaced, or is faulty and requires repair work.
If the oven is warm but not reaching the correct temperature, it's time to check the heating elements.
If a visual inspection doesn't show that one of the elements is out, you'll need an ohm meter. You will do this check.
When performing these inspections, you will also check to make sure the power cord is connected to the oven and that the wiring is not loose.
The oven might need to be adjusted if it isn't working.
Depending on whether you want to increase or decrease the temperature settings, you can turn the dial clockwise or counterclockwise.
Calibration can help adjust temperatures back to their correct range if the oven is over or under heating. Here is the link.
A bad relay can cause your oven to stop functioning or temperatures not to reach the appropriate level when trying to use it.
There are two relays in ovens with two heating elements. To gain access to the relay, you need to check your oven's owner manual.

I own a GE double oven range. The burners work well, but the ovens and the digital controls don't work. What could be the problem with this unit?
I have the same issue. The new control board has the same issue as the old one.
The control panel of the oven failed in the past and was replaced with a new one.Is the control panel the same as the digital clock?
The electric range was 20 years old.A grade is given to builders. The flat stove top works well. The oven takes a long time to warm up.When pre-heart is set to 350 degrees, the oven is only around 150 degrees. It will get to 350, but it will take a while. It takes about 20 minutes to get above 400 degrees. The sensor and burner unit have been replaced.Any ideas? Thanks.
What did you replace?Do you mean the oven burner unit?Is it still not working right? The preheating time for the electric oven is about 10 minutes.
Did you check to see if the bake element got power? You have to be certain that it is getting power. There is a problem with the control board if it isn't getting power. When you open the oven door, can you see the bake element?Does it get hotter?
There was a frozen pipe near the electrical washer and dryer plugs. The clock and timer on the panel do not turn on when I turn them back on, but the electrical stove top works.Any thoughts?
The range top doesn't work in the oven, broil, or clean function. The fan doesn't heat but the panel shows the temperature. The button doesn't go into clean mode.Thanks.
I have an electric range. The stove top doesn't heat up.The oven makes noises as it warms up.
The stove top works when I turn on the baje, but the oven does not go up from 100 degrees and I don't know what's wrong with it.
The oven doesn't work when I press a button on the display, but the top eyes work.I have tested the continuity of both elements. Please help!!
Did you press any buttons on the display and it went off? There wasn't clear for me.
I baked a turkey last week and it was barely warm after opening the oven for three hours. The bottom heating element will not warm up when I try it a few times. There was no heat in the oven. The technician said it was the control board.
The Lady Kenmore Classic has top and bottom ovens. When I turned off the top oven, I remembered I still needed it.Nothing happened when it was turned back on.
There is no visible damage to the elements. There is a red lamp for the top oven. Both oven inside lights work, as well as the bottom oven and stove top work. There is no top oven if you put a new fuse in.
There are no visible signs of cracks or being burnt when my broil element is not turning on.I have a bake element that works but seems to not reach the correct temperature.Should I replace the temp sensor??
You need to check the continuity before you replace it.You should check the temp sensor resistance. The room temperature should give you a good number. The Appliance repair Company can do this job for you.
My oven seems not to be heating up, I put it on self cleaning, and the baking element is bright red and hot, but there are no cracks on the elements, any suggestions?
The stove top works but the oven and digital readings are not.Any thoughts??
The bake and broil elements seem to be working. When I turn on bake, only the bake element turns on, not the top element.Any ideas?
The Broil element works. The bake element doesn't work.No heat.Does not turn red. There are no signs of rust wear or cracking.I didn't use the self cleaning feature for months. The bake element worked well yesterday. Is the bake element still there?
Sometimes the bake relay on the control board doesn't send power to the element, but in most cases it burnt out.If the control board fails, you need to check the continuity on the bake element.
