What type of transmission fluid is used for Isuzu Trooper?
If you don't have a drain plug for the transmission pan, you'll have to remove it.
The only way to do it yourself is to start with a case of trans fluid and a fluid pump.If you want to find the drain plugs on the bottom of the pan, raise your Trooper as high as you can.Put the engine in neutral and open the lower drain plug.Remove the lower plug and open the upper plug when it stops draining. The fluid pump can be used to fill the upper plug. The fluid will come out clear after doing this a few times. The genius who designed this system thought a trans dipstick wasn't necessary. Most of the case will be needed to get it done because the system has a capacity of 9 quarts. When you do your last fill, make sure to close the fill plug and have the engine running.
Is it necessary for the wheels to be off of the ground when adding fluid?I replaced the accumulator cover because my son Trooper was leaking, but I don't know how much fluid he lost.I know that it wouldn't run only in reverse.I added 1 1/2 quarts after it started flowing again.I think I did not add enough or that it didn't take as much as I could have. Please tell me what to do.About 145.000 miles is the mileage of the 2000 4WD Trooper. Is it possible that the filter is causing this as well?
Can I tow my trooper without a trailer? It has a slip release. What about the front auto 4WD release? How fast can I tow it?
