What is the collective term for plus minus division and plus?
DaMath is a board game based on the Filipino checker game and mathematics.Jesus Huenda is a high school teacher in the Philippines. In the 1980's it became very popular in the Philippines.
DaMath can be used to practice the four fundamental operations. It has many variations and we will discuss them in the video below. In order to explain the game more clearly, I have divided it into three posts.
The chessboard has 64 squares in alternating black and white. The four basic mathematical operations are written on white squares. Each square is marked by a row or column. The top- left square is in column 0 and row 7.
Two players are playing DaMath. They are referred to as the Blue Player and Red Player. The players are moving pieces.
The pieces are shown in Figure 2.A toss coin can be used to determine who will make the first move in a DaMath game.
The pieces are moved to the other side of the square. The pieces can only be moved to white squares.backward movements can only be made when capturing pieces or using a dama, and all movements have to be forward.Like a Queen in chess, a dama can move backward and capture pieces. In another post, we will discuss the movements of damas.
The Red Player can move any of the four pieces in the front row one square forward. In Figure 3, the Red Player moved 6 to 2 and the Blue player moved -9 to 7.
The movements of the two players are summarized. The score is written on the scorecard during tournaments.
A piece captures an opposing piece by jumping over it and landing on the other side of the square. It is mandatory to capture. The Red Player moved to 5 in Figure 4.The player obliged to capture -1 is the Blue Player. He can remove -1 from the board by jumping -9 over -1 landing. This is where -9 captured -1 and landed on a square with a + sign. The score will be (-9) + (-1).
The pieces are shown in Figure 4 after the Blue Player captured -1.The Red Player is going to capture -9.He can use either a 7 or a 10 to capture -9.A 7 will give you a higher score. When using a 7 and a 10, the result will be 7 + (-9) + 1
The Red Player is in front of the points. Each time a piece is captured, the players can add the obtained scores. The player with the higher points wins the game.
