Sometimes known as palisades, these 22mm thick individual picket fence pales can be used to cover the point where two picket panels meet in front of the post, or to infill any gaps in your run of picket fencing. Easy to assemble, although we advise that you wear gloves to avoid splinters!
What are palisades used for?
A palisade is a heavy-duty fence that's strong enough to keep out intruders, like one you might see around a military camp. Traditionally, palisades were built with wooden stakes around small forts or castles as a way to keep out enemies.
How do you work out fence spacing?
Divide the total spaces area by the number of pickets plus one: 33 divided by 18 equals 1.83 (inches). This is the precise width of each space between pickets (and between the pickets and posts).
Scaffold boards are the best heavy-duty fence panels and effectively the best fence panels for windy areas. Long-lasting and durable, they will not need much maintenance. You can paint or apply a good quality wood preserver if desired, but the best effect is when left to nature.
Which fence panels last the longest?
Generally, the two most durable and long-lasting fencing materials include wrought iron and steel fencing. Steel is a little more common on residential properties due to the fact that it is lighter and more versatile than wrought iron. Still, steel fencing can be extremely heavy and durable as a result.
