As you pass through your life's journey, walking with God means moving alongside God in unity and faith. For the majority of the time, focusing on God and following His lead will keep you on the right path.
Step 1: Imagine walking with someone in the physical world.
Consider what it means to walk with God with a friend or relative. How do you interact with that person? What do you expect from that individual, and how to behave in return? Two people are traveling in the same direction on a walk. Both of you are following the same path so that you don't leave the other behind.Your attention is on one another when you talk with each other. There is a sense of community between the two of you during your walk.
Step 2: Look for examples of people walking with God.
There are a few different examples of men and women who followed God in the scriptures, but to understand what it means to walk with God, look specifically for examples using that exact phrase.noch had sons and daughters and walked with God for three hundred years. The days of Enoch were for three hundred and sixty-five years. He was not with God, for he was taken by God.God took Enoch away to Paradise at the end of his days because he was in close community with him all his life. The passage doesn't suggest that anyone who walks with God will be taken to Heaven without seeing death, but it does imply that they will.
Step 3: Let go of the things that distract you.
You need to let go of all the worldly things in order to focus on God.Anything that you subconsciously prioritize over God is included in these distraction.Do you remember what it was like to walk with a friend? If your friend spent the entire time on his or her cell phone rather than interacting with you, the walk would not be very enjoyable and you wouldn't actually be walking together. You can't really walk with God if you focus on the things that distract you.Sins that you cling to create an obvious distraction are not the only things you need to watch out for.If you are not careful, things that can be beneficial can become harmful. It's a good thing to work hard and earn money to support your family. If you become obsessed with work and money to the point of neglecting your family and your relationship with God, you have allowed it to become a distraction.
Step 4: The Scriptures should be read.
The Bible is the word of God according to Christianity. It doesn't give you specific instructions, but it does show a good picture of what God wants for humanity.Having a good understanding of what the Bible says can help guide you away from bad decisions.
Step 5: Pray.
The believer can keep in touch with God through prayer.Prayers of thanksgiving, praise, and supplication have their place. The most important thing is to pray. When walking with a friend, think about how you act.Sometimes you walk in silence, but the two of you talk, laugh, and cry together. The believer can talk, laugh, and cry with God through prayer.
Step 6: Take a break.
Spending time in God's presence is what meditation is all about.Modern day meditation usually involves deep breathing and exercises to clear the mind. While these practices alone do not hold the same meaning as spiritual meditation, many believers still find that they are a good way to clear the mind of distraction so that one can focus more fully on God.If standard meditation practices don't work for you, then simply do whatever you can to escape from worldly distraction and think about God.You can listen to music, take a walk, and so on.
Step 7: Pay attention to the Almighty.
Sometimes God can interrupt the flow of things in a way that changes the path a person is on.You will need to keep your eyes open to see the subtle signs of Providence.Consider the story of Rebekah.Abraham's servant went to his homeland to look for a bride. While the servant was praying for the right girl to arrive, Rebekah came and offered him and his camels a drink, a sign.It wasn't a coincidence that the meeting was so important.Rebekah was brought to the well at the right time by the Almighty. There is a story in Genesis 24:15-20.
Step 8: You should analyze your steps.
Take a moment to think about the way you live your life.Do you know which parts of your life follow God?Take a moment to reflect on your walk so far.Think about times in your life when you were in harmony with God.You were walking with God on those days.Think about times when you felt lost or distant from God.If you were doing things that pushed God away, ask yourself if it was because you didn't make time for prayer, church, or meditation. You may have taken a wrong turn on those days.If you want to avoid the behaviors you followed in the past, try to model them.
Step 9: Obey God's instructions.
Keeping in step with God is what it takes to walk with him.To keep in step with Him, you need to model your actions after His and follow the instructions God has already given all of humankind.Complying with God's commandments is part of the process. The instructions are meant to keep humanity safe and connected to God.God's command to love is one of the most significant aspects of following his commands. You can model your life after the love God has shown.
Step 10: The Holy Spirit can give you guidance.
Scriptures and church tradition can be used to determine some of the steps on your walk with God.To get an understanding of what those steps are, you will need to pray to God.Children rely on their caretakers to guide them. They may think they know all the answers, but eventually they will realize that they should have listened to guidance offered by their parents, grandparents, etc., instead of getting themselves into trouble or danger. The Holy Spirit guides believers along paths that are positive.
Step 11: You have to be patient.
It is possible that the answer to a prayer will not arrive as quickly as you would like. There are times when you need to slow down and walk at God's pace.God will guide you to the place you are supposed to be when you arrive. If you want to walk with God, you must trust that God's chosen time of arrival is better than yours, even if you are in a rush.
Step 12: People are on the same path.
It is important to fellowship with others who share your dedication to God because you can have loved ones outside of the faith. You can support them in return, if you become your support here on Earth. The commitment you have made to walk with God can be kept accountable by other believers.God often uses the people in one's life to guide you.
Step 13: Don't stop walking.
You need to keep walking no matter how many times you trip.Even if you lose sight of the road you're supposed to travel on, God will not turn you away.
