You can learn how to master the basics of using your phone, from turning it on or off, to using provided applications.
Step 1: If it isn't on, turn it off.
Hold down the Lock button until you see a white Apple icon on the screen.
Step 2: You should charge your phone.
The cable is a long, white cord with a small, flat, rectangular prong on one end and a larger rectangular block on the other end.If you can't turn on your phone, try plugging it into a wall sockets for a few minutes.The port on the bottom of the housing is where the charging port goes.If you have an iPhone 4S, the end of the cable must face the same way as the phone's screen in order to have a grey rectangle on one side.There is a two-pronged electrical plug on one side and a rectangular slot on the other side.The cube's slot can be used to plug in the end of the charger that isn't attached to the phone.When you plugged your phone into a power source, it should turn on.There is a white Apple icon on the screen.
Step 3: Get to know the buttons on your phone.
If you place the iPhone on a flat surface with the screen facing up, all of the buttons are on the right side of your phone.Pressing it once while the phone is on will turn off the screen, while pressing it again will bring it back on.You can turn on an iPhone that's been turned off or turn it off that is currently on by pressing and holding it.There are two buttons on the left side of the housing.The bottom button lowers the volume of music, videos, or the phone's ringer, while the top button raises it.There is a switch on the left side of the housing.Clicking this switch upward will place your phone on audible mode, while clicking it down will vibrate it.There is an orange strip above the switch when your phone is muted.The bottom of the screen has a circular button.You can open the phone from the lock screen.Double-clicking it quickly will show all running applications, and clicking it while using an application will minimize the application.
Step 4: You can press the Lock button.
The Lock screen will be displayed if you wake up the screen.
Step 5: The Lock screen displays when the Home button is pressed.
The time of day will be at the top of the screen.The passcode field will be brought up by pressing Home.The Home button will bring you to the Home Screen if you don't have a password.
Step 6: The buttons on the screen allow you to type.
If the code is correct, you will be able to open your Home Screen.If you have TouchID enabled, your fingerprints will be used to unlocked your phone.
Step 7: Take a moment to review the Home Screen of your phone.
There are several square icons here, these are your iPhone's applications, or "apps" for short.All of the apps that come pre-installed on the phone are listed here.The Home Screen will get more pages when you add apps to your phone.You can scroll through these pages by moving your finger from the right side of the screen to the left side.
Step 8: You shouldFamiliarize yourself with native apps.
Some of the crucial apps that come installed on a standard iPhone include the following:You can change anything from the amount of time it takes for your display to turn off to your wireless network settings in this app.The app is green and has a white phone icon.If you tap the phone icon at the top of the screen, you can make calls manually.Contacts has a silhouette of a person's head on it.If your last phone's contacts weren't synchronized with your new one, you may want to import them to your iPhone.There is a white video camera icon on the green app.You can make face-to-face calls with your friends.A green app has a white speech bubble.You can send and receive text messages here.The blue app has a white envelope icon.You can either check your Apple ID email here or add an email account to this app.This app will show an up-to-date calendar.By filling in the information fields, you can set events for specific dates and times.There is a camera icon on the grey app.The Camera app allows you to take photos, videos, and different types of visual media.All of your photos are stored in this app.The photo will appear here when you take a picture.There is a compass icon on the blue app.You can use the browser to browse the web.The clock is an app.You can change or manage your saved time zones with this app.The Home Screen has a yellow and white notepad-shaped icon.The Reminders app is a good choice for lists and is useful for writing down quick notes.The Maps app will give you step-by-step directions if you enter a starting point and a destination.You can add gift cards and credit cards to your wallet.If you do that, you will be able to pay for online items as well as at supported retail stores.The App Store has a blue app with a white "A" on it.A white app has a musical note on it.You can find your music library in this app.This yellow app with a light bulb will provide you with insights that can help you get the most out of your time with your phone.
Step 9: From the left to the right, move across the screen.
If you do that, you will be able to see the current weather forecast, any alarms you have set, and relevant news on your mobile device.To scroll down this page, Swipe up from anywhere on the screen.You can type in what you want to see if you tap the "Search" bar at the top of the page.
Step 10: You can return to the Home Screen by wiping left.
The Home button can be pressed from any page of the Home Screen.
Step 11: Go down from the very top of the screen.
You can see all recent notifications on the Notifications page.).
Step 12: Press the button.
You can return to your Home Screen by doing that.
Step 13: The screen is in the middle of the screen.
The action will bring up a search bar at the top of the screen as well as a list of frequently used apps.You can either press the Home button or tap in the top-right corner of the screen.
Step 14: The bottom of the screen should be touched.
The Control Center has several options, including the airplane icon at the top of the window.Airplane Mode will prevent any cellular or wireless internet emissions from your phone.To turn it off, tap it or anything else on this list.The icon has rippling arcs.If it's blue, you can connect to the nearest recognized network by tapping this.The Control Center window has a center icon.You can connect your phone to speakers or other devices with this tap.The icon is shaped like the moon.You can prevent notifications from causing your phone to ring by tapping this.The padlock icon has a circle around it.You'll be able to view photos and other media in landscape mode if you hit it while it's red.A flashlight, timer, calculator, and a shortcut to the Camera app can be found in the bottom row of options.
Step 15: Press the Home button.
You will return to the Home Screen.It's time to start using your apps after you're familiar with the Home Screen.
Step 16: You can tap an app.
It will open if you open it.The way you interact with each app will vary depending on the one you're using, but you will generally be able to tap items to get things done.New apps can be downloaded from the App Store.
Step 17: The Home button can be pressed twice.
If you do so quickly, you will be able to zoom out of your currently open app and see all running apps in separate windows.Go to the app window and close it.You can scroll through your open apps with a left or right finger.
Step 18: The button is on the Home page.
You will return to the Home Screen.
Step 19: Put the app in your hand.
The other apps on your Home Screen should begin to wiggle after about a second.You can tap and drag the app to move it from here.A new screen will appear if you drag your app all the way to the right side of the Home Screen.You can access this page by using the Home Screen.To create a folder with those two apps, tap and drag the app onto another app.You can drag other apps into the folder as well.To uninstall the app, tap the top- left corner of the icon.When prompted to uninstall the app, you'll need to tap.
Step 20: As long as you please, you can change the Home Screen of your phone.
You can make a phone call once you've moved, deleted, and organized your apps according to your preferences.
Step 21: Go to the phone app.
The app is located on the Home Screen and has a white phone icon on it.
Step 22: The tab is called the "Keypad"
You can see this option at the bottom of the screen.Alternatively, you can tap the "Contacts" tab, tap a contact's name, and then hit the call icon at the top of the screen.
Step 23: To type in a phone number, use the keyboard.
You can lightly tap the numbers on this page to do this.
Step 24: The "Call" button has green and white letters on it.
There is a row of numbers on the screen.You will initiate your call if you do that.When your contact picks up their phone, you can speak normally with the phone up to your ear or use one of the following buttons.You can speak without holding the phone to your ear.You'll be able to see your recipient's face if you change the phone call to a FaceTime call.If your contact also has an Apple device, this will work.
