Unfriending someone on Facebook is not the same as not liking them.
Even though they don't like seeing that person's postscluttering their News Feed on a daily basis, everyone has a few friends on Facebook that they are obligated to put up with.Thankfully, Facebook allows you to kick these cyber- friends to the curb by unfollowing them or adding them to your profile's "appetances" list.These friends will still be able to see and comment on your posts, but you will not have to.
Step 1: Go to your page on Facebook.
If you want to get rid of an annoying friend's posts in your News Feed, you can go to their profile and "unfollow" them.If you don't have a Facebook account, you will need to enter your email and password.
Step 2: Go to the search bar and type in your friend's name.
It is at the top of the page.Clicking on their name in your News Feed will take you to their account page.
Step 3: The following option is at the top of their page.
To the right of their name is where this should be.On mobile, this will be below their name and profile picture.
Step 4: You can click or tap the "Unfollow" option in the menu.
You will no longer see their posts in your News Feed, but you will still be friends with them on Facebook.If their posts disappear, you may have to refresh your News Feed.
Step 5: You can open your Facebook page.
If you have a lot of friends who talk politics, you can mass-unfollow them from the Facebook menu.If you don't log in, you'll need to enter your email and password.
Step 6: You can click the menu button.
The downward-facing arrow in the top right corner of your screen will prompt a drop-down menu with links to general Facebook settings if you click the menu button.
Step 7: Click "news feed preferences"
You can open a small menu with settings for your News Feed.
Step 8: "Unfollow people to hide their posts".
You can find a list of all your friends on Facebook.
Step 9: You can click on each friend to follow them.
You will not be asked for confirmation before you click on a friend.Click "done" when you're done.You won't see posts from these friends.
Step 10: You can return to your News Feed.
Before these changes take place, you may need to refresh your page.
Step 11: To open Facebook, tap your app.
From within the Facebook menu, you can unfriend multiple people.If you don't have a Facebook account, you'll need to enter your email and password.
Step 12: You can find the Facebook menu icon.
The bottom right corner of your screen has a stack of horizontal lines.You can open the Facebook menu by doing that.
Step 13: You can adjust the settings by tapping the option.
This will open the settings menu.
Step 14: "News Feed Preferences" is what you'll be able to do.
This will allow you to change the appearance of your News Feed.
Step 15: "Unfollow people to hide their posts", it says.
This will open a menu with your friends on Facebook.
Step 16: Follow as many friends as you please.
If you tap each friend you want to follow, Facebook will not ask for confirmation before unfollowing them.
Step 17: When you're done, tap "done."
You should not see posts from these friends anymore.For these changes to take place, you may have to close your Facebook app and re-open it.
Step 18: You can open your page on Facebook.
The Acquaintances feature drops the priority level of its occupants' posts to the lowest possible level, meaning you won't see posts from friends in the group.If you don't have a Facebook account, you'll need to log in with your email and password.
Step 19: Click your friends tab.
Clicking this will take you to your friend groups on your Facebook page.
Step 20: Click "acquaintances"
This should be at the top of the page.
Step 21: You can add friends to this list.
You can add your friends' names to the page here.
Step 22: You can add a friend's name to "acquaintances".
As you like, you can add as many people as you want.
Step 23: You can return to the News Feed when you're done.
If you want to get rid of Acquaintance posts, you may need to refresh your Facebook page.To exclude your low priority friends from viewing your status, you can click the "Friends" option next to the post button.Clicking " More Options" at the bottom of the menu will allow you to view this option.
Step 24: You can open Facebook.
If you don't want your friend to see certain posts, you can change the "Who should see this?" question.You have settings in your status field.To open Facebook on a mobile device, tap the " Facebook" app.
Step 25: Go to the status creation field.
The status creation field at the top of your screen usually says something like "What's on your mind?"To view its options on mobile, you need to tap the status creation field.
Step 26: The status creation field can be found below the "Friends" button.
There are options regarding who can see your status.If you're on a mobile device, the "Friends" option is below your name.
Step 27: Click "Custom" after clicking " more options".
You can use the "Custom" option to exclude friends you don't want to see your statuses."Friends except" can be tapped on mobile.To prevent your friend's friends from seeing your post, uncheck the box next to "Friends of tagged"
Step 28: You can exclude a friend by typing the name.
You can add as many people to this list as you please, but you will need to do this in the field beneath the "Don't share with" text.Simply tap the circle to the left of each friend to exclude them from your status.
Step 29: You can save changes when you're done.
You can change your default sharing option to "Custom" from within the same menu.In the top right corner, tap "Done" to save the changes.
