There is a problem with the power button on my tv.

The tv keeps blinking on and off.It isn't the power supply.Any other suggestions?It's only 2 years.

If you say that it's not the power supply, you must have tested the rails or tried a replacement board.

There may be a problem with the strips.I don't know if the backlight power comes from the power board or a separate board.When the back lighting goes off, it's hard to tell if the display is still there.It's just a thought.

It sounds like you need a service manual.It was the first step in repairing a television before the days of replaceable circuit boards.There is a smell.It is possible to smell a burned component.You can always use a plastic probe to poke around on the printed circuit board if the unit is on.That could show a cold solder joint.It has worked for me many times before.It should be easy to fix a bad solder connection if it is not on a multi-layer board.Multi-layer boards can rarely be repaired.You can find new boards online, but be sure to match them.A new TV might be the only solution if something goes wrong with the driver circuit.

If your screen does something in spite of the new power board which includes the backlight circuitry like this, there will be an error with the LEDs.Since you will have to dismantle the panel, these are not easy to replace.We can find the right strips for you if you post your panel number, not the TV's model number.The numbers are on a label.

I have to remove the power cord from the wall in order to connect it again.After not being used for a few days, it doesn't happen often.Will need to change the video settings.

An update.The issue is resolved after I toggled several settings on the TV.I don't know which change corrected the issue, but there were no issues after.

It used to happen to my 55” at just after midnight.The technicians remotely turned off the timer, but I did it myself.I plugged the TV into the mains after I disconnected my voltage stabilising device.Problem solved.I have plugged a multi plug tripper.

You said it's not the power supply.Does that mean you've taken the back off?Is the power supply built in or is it external?Can you identify a relay that clicks when it powers on if you have opened the TV unit?As it powers on, hold a small rare earth magnet near the relay.Don't touch anything, hold the magnet near any integrated circuit chips, and be careful not to touch it.The relay coil can get weak.The unit will remain on even after the magnet is taken away if the magnetic field is boosted near the relay.The relay is bad if that works.

A new power supply board was ordered by me.It's a plug and play.Didn't fix it.I don't know if the back light is worth repairing.

I blacked in and out with no pattern.It only happens with the service from Xfinity where I have a box attached to it.There were no issues with Netfllix and Amazon through my internet service.All seems to be okay now that the HDMI cable has been changed.I think it has to do with the connection.Cross your fingers to change the cable.
