The film is an American computer-animated Christmas fantasy comedy film produced by Illumination and distributed by Universal Pictures.The 1957 book How the Grinch Stole Christmas! is based on it.Following the 1966 television special starring Boris Karloff and the 2000 live-action feature-length film starring Jim Carrey, it is the third screen adaptation of the story.It is the second Dr. Seuss film adaptation by Illumination.The film was directed by Yarrow Cheney and Scott Mosier and was written by Michael LeSieur and Tommy Swerdlow.Mosier's directorial debut was the film.The plot follows the Grinch and his dog Max as they plan to ruin Whoville's Christmas celebration by stealing all the decorations and gifts.

The film The Grinch was released and distributed by Universal Pictures in the United States.It became the highest-grossing holiday film of all time with $511 million.It received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the animation and vocal performances, but felt the film added little or nothing new to the source material.The final film adaptation of Dr. Seuss was released in December of last year, five and a half weeks after the death of the film's executive producer.[5]

The human-like people in Whoville are excited about Christmas.The cantankerous and green-furred Grinch, who has a heart being two sizes too small, is not amused.He lives in a cave with his dog and only goes to Whoville to play with the citizens.

Cindy Lou Who notices that her mother Donna is exhausted trying to take care of herself and her twins.Cindy was going to send a letter to Santa to help her mother, but after an encounter with the Grinch, she decided to go to the North Pole.When Donna told her that it would take a month to get to the North Pole, she decided to try and trap Santa with the help of her friends.

With Christmas approaching, a bungled attempt by the Grinch to ruin a tree-lighting ceremony results in him reliving his childhood spent alone and unwanted in an orphanage.The Grinch decided that he would steal Christmas from Whoville.He and Max get a fat reindeer and steal a sleigh from Mr. Bricklebaum.After a test run, the Grinch and Max discover that Fred has a family, and the villain agrees to let him go home with them.

On Christmas Eve, after making a Santa disguise and crafting dozens of gadgets to help him with his plan, the Grinch and Max, who pull the sleigh in Fred's place, go down to Whoville to steal the decorations and presents.He met Cindy Lou after falling into her trap.The Grinch was touched by her request to lighten her mother's workload and her advice to listen to the Whos' singing to alleviate his sadness.The loneliness Christmas brought the Grinch, he couldn't let go of his mission.

After stealing every Christmas present and decoration, the Grinch and Max head back to Mount Crumpit to dispose of them.The Whos are shocked and disappointed to see that the decorations are gone.Donna tells Cindy Lou that she's the best thing that ever happened to her and that Christmas is not centered on presents.The Whos joined together to sing "Welcome Christmas", rendering the Grinch confused to see that they are celebrating Christmas despite his thefts.When Cindy Lou remembers her advice, the Grinch immerses himself in their singing, causing his heart to triple in size.The sleigh falls off the mountain.He succeeds when Fred and his family help him.After securing the sleigh, the Grinch and Max slide down back to Whoville in order to return the stolen items, and the villain admits his crimes and apologizes to the Whos before returning to his cave.

Cindy Lou invited him to celebrate Christmas at her house because she was sorry for the Grinch.He realized that it wasn't Christmas he hated, but being alone and being neglected, when he sat for dinner.The Whos' friendship has finally been accepted by the Grinch, who enjoys Christmas with them.

In some releases, Georgia Toffolo provided the voice of Mrs. Toffee Apple, a customer who was trying to reach a jar of Christmas chutney.The uncredited vocal effects for Max and Fred were provided by Frank Welker.Catherine Cavadini, Jess Harnell, Scott Mosier, Tara Strong, and Jim Ward all perform additional voices.

In February of this year, it was announced that Illumination was working on a 3D animated film based on the book How the Grinch Stole Christmas.Scott Mosier took over from Peter Candeland, who was set to direct.[8]

In April 2016 Benedict was cast as the character.Since the rest of the cast is American, it was decided that the Grinch should have an American accent.The Mayor of Whoville was going to have a voice by September.The film's narrator was revealed to be Pharrell Williams, who had previously worked on the Despicable Me films.[2]

Illumination Mac Guff created the animation.Maya, ZBrush, and Nuke were some of the software programs used to create the film's characters.The town of Whoville was created using Maya, ZBrush, and Allegorithmic's Substance Painter.It was [13].

Tyler, the Creator wrote a song for the film.Tyler and Danny Elfman collaborated on a new version of the song "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" for the film, which was featured in the final trailer.

The film's score was composed by Danny Elfman.On November 9, 2018, Elfman's score was released on digital formats along with the soundtrack and the film.There are no comments at this time.

The billboards for the film featured an image of the Grinch with a mean or ironic message.For about $80 million worth of advertising, Universal and Illumination worked with several companies to promote the film.The studio spent an estimated $121 million promoting the film.A giant inflatable balloon featuring the character first appeared at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City on November 23, 2017, 1 year ahead of its release.The Grinch and Max made appearances in the WNBC/WNJU holiday sing along promo.[21]

In the United States and Canada, The Grinch made $270.8 million, and in other countries, it made $241 million.The ninth most-profitable release of the year was calculated by Deadline Hollywood.It is Universal's second biggest hit of the year.
