The Insert And Overwrite Sequences As Nest Or Individual Clips button should be enabled.
To nest a sequence in another sequence, use the same editing techniques you would use to edit a clip into the sequence.
The Project panel shows the new nested sequence that replaces the clips in the current sequence.
The individual clips are added if the insert and overwrite sequence button is disabled.
If you want to use a source clip for your main sequence, put all the clips for a scene into a sequence.Sequences can be used to explore your footage.
