It is difficult to keep track of homework and assignment due dates without an organizational strategy. It can be difficult to rely on your memory when you have a lot of work to remember. You will have all of your assignments at your fingertips if you make a homework planner.
Step 1: Decide what type of planning sheets you will include.
Staying organized requires more than one type of planning list, such as a monthly calendar, a weekly calendar and a daily to-do list.A calendar with extended areas could be used for writing notes and planning.Adding extra notes to your planner can be done with post-it or sticky notes.Digital planners can be hard to personalize, but some people prefer them.
Step 2: You can choose your paper.
You can use any type of paper in your planners. You can use what you have on hand, print planning templates, or make a trip to the craft store to choose prints that inspire you.You probably already have some in your backpack, so notebook paper is a quick solution. It may work well for people who are creative if you have a blank computer paper. It's easier to stay organized when you use templates. You can choose what suits your needs, since you will be printing your own templates.Since the calendar and planning spaces are already created for you, templates will make it easier to get started with your planning.Try printed papers for a challenge. There are tons of design options at your local craft store.Keep in mind how you will use the planners when you pick your designs. You won't be able to see what you wrote if you choose all dark colors.
Step 3: Put your paper in the order you want it to show up.
By type of planning sheet, or by month, you can organize your paper to match how you will use it.Similar planning sheets can be kept together if you organize into monthly, weekly, and daily sections. This format will allow you to keep weeks together when the month changes. You can be flexible with how you use your to-do list sheets. If you want to organize by month, you should take one calendar and five sheets of planning and to-do list sheets.
Step 4: You can create sections for your planner.
It is time to put your paper into sections as it will appear in your final product. To mark your sections, place a sheet of colored paper between them. You could also use tabs. The sections can be marked with tape.Take a strip of tape and fold it over so that the edges of the tape don't touch the paper between the two sections. If you have post-it notes, you can use them to highlight sections.
Step 5: Make a cover.
You can be creative with the cover of your planner. If you like to work on the computer, you can design your cover using your favorite app and then print it out.You can use a piece of paper from the craft store as your cover if you don't want to decorate it.If you buy a piece of zebra print paper, you can put your title on the front.Draw or paint your cover if you are an artist. If you don't like drawing or crafting, you could try decorating your planner with stickers that represent something you love, such as your hobby or favorite band.
Step 6: Decide which sections to include in your planner.
Monthly calendars, weekly planners, and to-do lists will be included in common section names. You can decide if this is for all of your classes or just one.How many sections you make could be affected by this.
Step 7: Attach your paper.
Now that the sections are clearly marked, it is time to bind the paper. To staple the paper is the simplest option.Cut a two-inch wide slip of paper and fold it to fit over your staplers for a cleaner look.Glue the paper to make it look like a book. You can use a hole punch and ribbon to make a notebook.
Step 8: You can write your assignments in your Planner.
All of your assignments can be copied into your new planner. For the best results, use different colored ink for each class. You could use different colored ink for different types of assignments if you only use your planners for one class. You could use blue, orange, or red for things. You won't be able to overlook due dates if you enter assignments for the whole period at once.If you have time to complete the assignment, divide it into several days.If you have a science project due at the end of the month, you need to start working on it in advance.Write your workdays on your calendar.
Step 9: Pick a notebook.
You can start by looking for the perfect notebook, such as a composition book, spiral, or journal. If you want to express yourself, decorating your homework planner is a great way to do that.
Step 10: The notebook should be decorated.
Even if you don't consider yourself an artist, designing your cover gives you a chance to be creative. You can either glue on your decorations or use ink or paint on the cover of your notebook. If you are an artist, you can use this as an opportunity to sketch or paint your planners cover.Another option is to use photos, words, and phrases from a magazine. You can glue the clippings to the notebook cover.Clear packing tape is a good way to protect your work. You can glue fabric, paper, or magazine photos to your notebook if you enjoy crafting. You could use stickers or photos to decorate your planner if you don't like drawing or crafting. You could cover your notebook with stickers representing your favorite bands, or you could print out photos of your friends and glue them on the cover.
Step 11: You can divide your notebook into sections.
You need to create sections for your planning before you can use your newly decorated notebook for homework.Monthly calendars, weekly planners, and to-do lists will be included in common sections.Take the number of sheets for each section. How many sheets of paper you need per section depends on you.You would need at least 14 sheets of paper for monthly planning and 54 sheets for weekly planning for a standard year-long planner.Extra sheets will allow for section labels, do-overs, and section buffers.Cut the edges of the paper to create section dividers. To make your dividers, fold a piece of tape over on itself so that the ends touch the paper. You can easily see the divide between sections if you leave a flap of tape on the paper. The corners of your sections can be divided by cutting them. You could cut the top and bottom of the weekly planning sheets and leave the third section un-cut.You would be able to find each section easily.
Step 12: Your sections should be labeled.
Make a label on the first page of your sections. You can draw, write, or use stickers. If you want your label to say something, you could print it out, trim the excess paper, and glue it onto the title page.
Step 13: You can create your own calendars.
You can see a month at a glance if you draw or paste in a calendar. It's easier to plan out time to work on assignments. To draw your calendar, you will need a ruler or a straight surface to trace.Draw a large box with your ruler. For the seven days of the week, trace six evenly-spaced lines and create seven columns. The rows of weeks are created by drawing four evenly-spaced lines down the width of the box.You will have 35 boxes when you're done.Above each column, write the days of the week. The correct dates for the first month of your homework planner should be written in the name of the month.
Step 14: Make a list of things to do weekly.
Creating planning sheets is important because most of your actual planning will happen in your weekly section. If you divide your sheets into eight even boxes, you will have seven for the days of the week and one extra box for notes. To create eight boxes, you need to draw a line down the center of your paper and then three evenly-spaced lines across it.Don't put everything into your planners because some deadlines are flexible. If you want to do something differently, you'll have to replan everything.
Step 15: You need to insert your assignments.
You are ready to use your homeworkplanner. You can use your assignment sheets to complete your assignments. You can organize your tasks by things you can do in the next week or two, and things that you want to do at a later time.
Step 16: Your binder should be chosen.
When selecting a binder, make sure to consider size.If you need more planning space, you may want to use a 1- or 2-inch binder. You can either recycle or buy a new binder. If you don't want to add bulk to your backpack, print out calendars and weekly planning templates and put them in your regular binder. You don't have to worry about juggling an extra notebook because you can easily track your assignments.
Step 17: Determine how you want to plan.
Monthly calendars, weekly planning sheets, and to-do lists are included in most planners. If you decide you need more planning materials, it will be easy to add new sections later.
Step 18: Your planning sheets can be printed.
Print out the sheets you need for each section using a template or your own design. This will include blank calendars, blank weekly planning sheets, and your favorite to-do list organizers. You can use regular notebook paper for your to-do lists.
Step 19: You can put your planning sheets in the dividers.
To make it easier to flip between sections, you will want to separate your planning sheets with standard index dividers. You can label each section with the help of index dividers.First you need to put your to-do list paper in your binder. On top of the stack, place an index divider. The monthly planning sheets should be added with the index divider for that section.Add your calendars and an index divider for that section.Adding a special index page or key that explains your strategy is something you may want to do.
Step 20: Enter your work.
The homework planner is ready to use.You can schedule your assignments on your planning pages.
