There are many ways to get rid of bubbles in a substance.
You mix the two together and leave a lot of bubbles. You want them to disappear when you finish your work.
There are so many micro-sized bubbles in your finished work that it looks cloudy.
When it comes to the type of jewelry that is made with it, the one problem I see is bubbles in the material.
This can be unavoidable with some brands. Some brands need to be done in thin layers to achieve less bubbles.
Even though there is a lot of variables at play, I have 8 tips to address it no matter what brand of epoxy you use.
Most likely, no one will notice the bubbles in your finished product, but you.
These 8 tips will help if you are getting big bubbles or just starting with something.
Start with this tip because it is the fastest and most effective. You might not need the others.
Stay away from the flame for too long. It's important to do it quickly. It takes a few seconds of heat exposure at a time.It should be done 1 to 3 times as needed, with several minutes wait time in between to allow the resin to cool.
It will keep a soft, malleable surface even after it's cured for 24 hours, and who wants to wait 3 months for that to go away? There is no guarantee that it will cure. There is a notifiable-yet-subtle difference when it is over-heated.
If you use the flame too much, the cured product will have a sticky texture on the surface.
The problem may not have been the flame, if it is sticky or tacky and sticks to your fingers.
If you want to warm the resin, you can submerge it in a bowl full of warm water. For a few minutes, place it a couple feet from a heating source.
What about the hardener?Do you want to know? The general recommendation is no...You can.I use ArtResin and warm the bottles in front of a space heater.
I have noticed that a warmer room results in less bubbles, which makes summer a great time to make jewelry. The de-gassing process is more effective because it helps the mixture to be more viscous.
You have to mix the two together.Don't rush.Slowly mix them together, taking the full 3 to 5 minutes.
Air bubbles can be hard to get out of if you stir too fast. The amount of bubbles will be a lot if the bottles and room are cold.
Depending on the material. The de-gassing can begin with this.
It cuts into the pot time, which is the time you have before the resin is too much to work with. The length of the pot time depends on the brand you're using, so be sure to read up on it.

This is effective in thin layers. In almost all cases, the best place to use epoxy is in thin layers.
It's not always necessary to blow on the surface, but using a few or all of them will help you get less bubbles.
I don't use this method because I prefer to wear a mask, and I rely more on the next tip.
If you want to pop the bubble, you can use a toothpick, blow on the surface, or use your hand torch and the bubbles will pop.
Your friend is toothpicks.I swirl the bubbles with toothpicks and wipe them off on a paper towel.
It works best in thin layers and develops less bubbles. The bubbles are harder to get out of the thicker layers.
Some things I make require thicker layers, so sometimes I ignore that tip.
It is not a necessary expense for most of my students.I use methods that anyone can do at home.
There are a lot of variables at play. The problem could be humidity. There is a room temperature. The brand of material.
When you are already busy and don't have time to go to the internet forums for answers, getting into resin jewelry can be overwhelming.
It takes a long time to get to the point where you can make something that people will like.
I am self-taught.I will not tell you that it is not possible.I mostly learned from failure and experience from my two cold, harsh teachers.
This is my job and I don't have another. If you have any free time, you probably want to spend it because not everyone has the time to go through a year of failures and lucky successes and more failures.
I made a video course for you. When you don't know what you're doing, you can save time by watching all the lessons in a day.Money was in the trash when it happened to me.
