Whether it is a cabinet, baseboard, or other object, painted wood comes in many forms. It is important to give these surfaces a proper cleaning every few months because they don't require a lot of maintenance. To clean the painted wood surface, use a mixture of dish soap and warm water and wipe it down.If you want to use a cleaning alternative, you can use ammonia or vinegar. With a little bit of care, your painted wood fixture will be clean in no time.
Step 1: Dust can accumulate around the area.
If you want to clean the edge of your painted wood, you can use the tube attachment with your vacuum cleaner. If you don't have a vacuum or vacuum extension, you can use a broom. If you don't have to worry about dust later on, the cleaning process can be more thorough.
Step 2: There is a bucket of warm water.
A basin with 2 to 4 inches of warm water can be filled with a medium-sized plastic bucket.Take a bottle of dish soap and squeeze a small amount into the container.Do not use a dishwashing detergent on your painted wood surfaces.
Step 3: Take a microfiber cloth and wring it out of the mixture.
Put a soft, gentle cloth in the soapy mixture. Before removing the fabric from the suds, make sure it is drenched. The microfiber cloth needs to be squeezed out so that it isn't dripping wet.The fabric should be damp, but not sopping. If you want to wipe down a painted surface, never use steel wool.
Step 4: Use circular motions to wipe down the wood.
Rub the cloth along the painted wood to reach the edges and corners. As you remove the dust from the surface, move the rag in small, circular motions.Try to clean the entire painted surface from left to right.
Step 5: Take another cloth and squeeze out any excess water.
Place a microfiber cloth under the water.Wait until the rag is completely saturated before squeezing it out.The material should be damp, but not dripping wet.
Step 6: To get rid of the cleaning solution, Rub the wet rag across the cabinets.
Take the microfiber cloth and wipe it clean. All remnants of the soap should be wiped from left to right.Your painted wooden surfaces will be sticky if you don't wipe down the soapy solution.
Step 7: Use a microfiber cloth to dry off the surface.
Take a third cloth or rag and wipe it across the washed surface in long, circular motions.Continue from left to right until the item is dry to the touch. It is important to use clean cloths for this process so that you don't spread dirt to the painted wooden surface.
Step 8: It's better to use all-purpose cleaner instead of dish soap.
The container should hold 2 to 4 inches of warm water. If you don't have any dish soap on hand or would prefer to use a different cleaning, you can mix 2 to 4 cups of white vinegar or all-purpose cleaner into a container. If you use either of these ingredients, make sure they areDiluted.Don't apply all-purpose cleaner to painted wood.
Step 9: To get rid of stains, use a mixture of ammonia and water.
Stir the ingredients together in a small container, until they are completely combined.Instead of using the rag soaked in the cleaning solution, dip a microfiber cloth or washrag into the ammonia mixture.Use small circular motions to remove dirt and stains.Baking soda paste can be used instead of ammonia.
Step 10: Freshen up the baseboards with a dryer sheet.
If you want to use a dry microfiber cloth, take a clean dryer sheet and drag it along the baseboards. You should wipe the entire trim after you swiped along the painted surface.
