The Merrill ProjectStores hand out five gallon buckets for free, where to get food grade buckets?
Food grade buckets are in high demand. It is unbelievable that they have so many different uses.We are using them in many different ways in our house. It can be difficult to find them at times.
The buckets are not 5 gallons.I only wanted the 5-gallon buckets at first.I changed my mind again. Here is why.
You can find a bakery near a grocery store.I have gotten them from a number of places. You might be able to find other stores where you live.It needs to be a big bakery where they make a lot of things.Walmart is too small in the local neighborhood.
They will ask you what size you want, or they will give you a small one.Ask if they have anything bigger.Sometimes they have to ask their manager, and sometimes they just give the last one away.I found a store where I could get buckets consistently.
The buckets are about 12 in high and the same in diameter. They work great and I use them to hold our toys.It cost less than a box that would break easily from my kids. They use the toys as step stools.
These buckets are amazing. When something comes up, I like to have at least 5 empty ones stored at all times.Since they are easier to carry, we are going to start storing water in them.Don't give up, it may take a few stores to find them. It's definitely worth it!

I'm looking for some in the western burbs of Chicago. Are you able to email us at the Peoples Resource Center?Thank you.
The buckets from home depot are not food grade. The buckets are white.
There are good places to find buckets in NE Ohio.I need more. The round white buckets are ok, but I really like the 5 gallon colored buckets.
The orange ones will be from Home Depot. There is another place to get 5 gallon donuts, but they are white.
Smaller buckets are available at BBQ places. We live in Texas.BBQ everywhere. Some charge a dollar while others stack them by the back door. They don't seal as well as new ones, but work for things like chicken feed, dog food, beans, etc.
