If you're concerned about the amount of sugar in Grande, you can order it with fewer pumps.A Starbucks Salted caramel Mocha is made with four pumps of syrup. The Starbucks employee said that one pump of the syrup has 27 calories and 7 grams of sugar, which is more than the four pumps. One pump of Mocha Sauce has 25 calories and 5 grams of sugar, which is less than the four pumps.Half of the calories and sugar comes from the pumps. The drink will be 104 calories and 24 grams of sugar if you only order two pumps.
The caramel sauce is still made with butter, heavy cream, and nonfat dry milk even if you skip the whipped cream.
If you want to give a lower-sugar twist to a salted caramel latte at Starbucks, this is a good place to start. It's nice to have options that will make this treat a little healthier, but we don't think ordering your drink is a bad idea.
