Spencer Smith is leaving Panic! At The Disco after 10 years.
There is a band meeting. After 10 years, one of Panic! The original members of at the Disco are leaving.
Spencer Smith said in a statement last week that he is ending his run with the band he co-founded.The musician broke the news on the band's official website on Thursday, April 2.
After 10 years of being a part of this unbelievable journey it saddens me to say that I will be leaving Panic. It wasn't an easy decision to make, but after a lot of thought it became clear that this is what's right for me and the band.
Smith and Ryan Ross formed the group in the early 2000s.At the Disco in 2009.Smith has released four studio albums, with whom he has seen a variety of incoming and outgoing bandmates.
The drummer said that seeing the band grow from four kids in his parents garage to what it is now has been incredible.I loved it all.I realized at a certain point that I wasn't able to be there for the band in the way I wanted to.
When Smith revealed that he was struggling with addiction, he took some time away from the band.He decided not to remain in the band after getting clean.
A few years ago, when his addiction grabbed hold, they could have easily kicked him out and never looked back, but they didn't.They gave me time to get my life in order and encouraged me to seek treatment. They helped me through those rough times, and now, on the other side, with two years sobriety from prescription medication and a year sober from alcohol, I am grateful for all they have done. This band always felt more like a family to me because of things like that.
