Smurfette was created in Gargamel's laboratory, what is the main reason he wants the Smurfs?
Gargamel is from The Smurfs. The main villain in the show and comic books is an evil wizard. He wants to destroy the Smurfs and turn them into gold.
Gargamel is a stooped man.His teeth are rotten and his robe is worn and patched. He hates everyone and the Smurfs in particular, though he will sometimes feign friendship if there is something in it for him that he can either earn or steal. He surrenders or flees upon the hint of personal risk or harm.
Gargamel and his cat, Azrael, live in a hovel.Gargamel often degrades and abuses Azrael, but he does in fact love him.Gargamel is sad that Azrael ran away and wishes he would come back.Balthazar wants to kill a wildcat that Azrael befriended, and Gargamel doesn't want him to.
Gargamel is a bungler. The creation of Smurfette is one of the rare moments of genius that he has, though some of his schemes to catch Smurfs border on the bizarre. He has a large collection of spellbooks and other items for his life's passion.Even though Gargamel's plans are elaborate, they invariably end in failure, causing him to say "I hate Smurfs!".He will sometimes throw a temper tantrum and cry out, "Why can't I defeat those miserable little Smurfs?"He vows to get you if it's the last thing he does.
When Gargamel first appeared in Le Voleur de schtroumpf, he captured a Smurf, which he needed as an ingredient for a Potion to make gold in accordance with the legend of the Philosopher's Stone. The kidnapped Smurf was freed by the other Smurfs. The conflict would be personal after the sorcerer was defeated and humiliated.
Sometimes he wants to eat the Smurfs, and other times he would like to use them to make gold, but he yells "I don't want to" when he does that.He doesn't know the location of the hidden Smurf village, a fact that frustrates him, as he often catches Smurfs who wander by his home or across the forest.
On some occasions, he has accidentally discovered the location of the village, but sooner or later, gets led away from it due to either a magic spell put on him by Papa Smurf or something else.Sometimes, it is a matter of being led away from the village while chasing Smurfs and then not being able to find his way back.Gargamel would leave a trail from the village to his house, but the Smurfs would sprinkle cinnamon on the path to keep him from going back.
He was able to explore the deepest caves, the muddiest marshlands and even go far out to sea because of his obsessive search. He was about to give up and go home when he found the village, but the circumstances were against him.[3]
Gargamel has acted on the same side as the Smurfs a few times. The only way the Smurfs can get Papa Smurf back to normal is with Gargamel's help.
Gargamel keeps a spellbook called the Great Book of Spells in the basement of his house, which is a living, sentient thing capable of speech, and which must provide him with any spell he requests one day a month on the final phase. The book does not like this arrangement and often takes Gargamel's requests too literally, instructing him to gather ingredients and do rituals that humiliate him in the process. In a late season, it is suggested that the Book is not evil and just doesn't like being used for selfish reasons, as it aids the Smurfs in undoing a magical disaster with very little fanfare.
Gargamel created Smurfette to try and cause trouble to the Smurfs. The clay that Gargamel used for Smurfette was used by the other Smurflings to create Sassette the Smurfling."Pappy Gargamel" is what Sassette refers to him as.She is the only person in the village who wants to see good in him.
Gargamel has worked with other enemies of the Smurfs, such as Lord Balthazar, who are more efficient and focused enemies, and even so much as to smash their alliance with Gar gamel and enslave him.
Not much is said of Gargamel's relationships with women, although in one episode, an ugly witch named Hogatha tries to steal a magical earring from him in order to seduce him.She almost succeeds, but her transformation from ugly to beautiful is too hard for her, and Gargamel eventually learns of the ruse.Gargamel almost got married. His "mummy" decided it was high time he took a wife and introduced him to a baron's daughter who didn't really like him.He had no feelings for the girl, until he saw a map of the Smurf Village in her hope chest and declared his love for her.He still didn't love her, just the map to the Smurf Village. The wedding was ruined when Smurfs showed up and wreaked havoc, so the ceremony was canceled. In the episode "Gargamel's Sweetheart", he falls in love with Evelyn, a glamorous but evil witch whom he tries unsuccessfully to impress with his claims of being a rich, powerful wizard.Their efforts go unrewarded because of his bungling, and she drops both her pretense and Gargamel like a hot potato.
The comic series about a fun-loving young city girl who was created by her father made with sugar, spice and everything nice was written and drawn by Vicq and Jidéhem. In 1975, a story was drawn about the Smurfs being on a winter holiday and how they have survived the 20th century.Gargamel is said to be a bit of a sorcerer and who claims to have studied occult sciences. He wants revenge on the Smurfs, implying that he is the original Gargamel who has lived as far as the 20th century.[4]
Even though Gargamel was the earliest of the Smurfs' sworn enemies, he would be a recurring character in the cartoon series.
Despite his hatred for the Smurfs, more than once he has had to rely on Papa Smurf to save him, such as when he was about to be killed by Balthazar. They had to team up to fight an enemy.Papa Smurf drinks too much water from a fountain of youth and becomes a smurfling in an episode of "The Fountain of Smurf".The Smurfs have to rely on Gargamel to help turn Papa Smurf back to his old age.Gargamel and Azrael fall into the Fountain of Youth and become a child and a kitten again.
Gargamel bribed him to teach him magic, even though he had been kicked out of a boarding school for young wizards in his youth.Though still inexperienced in the ways of magic, Scruple seems brighter and more savvy than his master. The students of the wizard academyrate him for failing to qualify for admission because he aided Gargamel in capturing the Smurfs. The students are a weakness in the scheme of things, as they have some success using Gargamel's magic to cause them problems.
The final season of the series, where the Smurfs are constantly traveling through time, would show different versions of Gargamel, such as an Indian fakir, a Russian peasant, or a Spanish bullfighter. In one of the earlier episodes, where Gargamel is shown as an Egyptian pharaoh's aide, Papa Smurf believes that all the men and their cats are descendants of him and Azrael.
