Do you love s'mores but don't have a fireplace? You can make them indoors using your microwave. There are a number of ways to make a basic s'more.
Step 1: Break a cracker in two.
There is a plate with a paper towel on it.Put the other cracker away. The paper towel will keep the cracker dry.You can use a honey-cinnamon cracker if you can't find any graham crackers.
Step 2: Place a piece of chocolate on top of the cracker.
If you are using a large chocolate bar that has brick-like lines, use those lines as a guide. The chocolate should be smaller than the cracker.
Step 3: The marshmallows should be placed on top of the cracker.
Stand it up on the flat side so that it doesn't roll off when you move it.Don't place the other cracker half on top just yet, you will do that at the end.
Step 4: The s'more can be microwaved for 15 seconds.
Put the plate in the microwave and heat it for 15 seconds. The chocolate will begin to melt and become soft. The s'more should be heated at 5-second intervals if the marshmallows puffs up too much. Before heating it again, let the marshmallows deflate.
Step 5: Remove the plate from the microwave and place the other cracker on top of the marshmallows.
To seal it, press down on the s'more.Don't press so hard that the cracker breaks.
Step 6: Allow it to be cool for a few minutes before you eat it.
If you burn your tongue on s'mores, they won't be fun to eat.
Step 7: If you break a cracker in half, you will end up with two squares.
You can use honey-cinnamon flavoured crackers instead of graham crackers if you can't get any.
Step 8: Put some chocolate spread on one of the crackers.
You can use any type of chocolate spread.Instead of using chocolate fudge sauce, you can use it.Don't heat and melt chocolate fudge sauce if you want it to be thick and cold.
Step 9: The other cracker should be covered with a spread.
You can use one or four mini marshmallows if you can't find any.
Step 10: Put the two crackers on a plate.
Make sure the corners match up by placing the chocolate and marshmallows side by side.If you want to prevent the cracker from getting wet, put a paper towel underneath it.
Step 11: The marshmallows should be on high for about 10 seconds.
If you make more than one s'more at a time, you may need to increase the cooking time.
Step 12: To seal it, gently press down on the s'more.
If you press down hard enough, the s'more will stick together, but not so hard that the cracker will break.
Step 13: It's a good idea to let it cool a bit before you eat it.
You won't have to wait that long because you did not heat the chocolate. It will be enough for a few seconds.S'more are not good when they burn your mouth.
Step 14: You can experiment with different types of cookies.
Graham crackers are sweet, so other types of crackers or cookies will work as well.Try it with chocolate chip cookies. If you are using a vanilla wafer, cut a larger one in half and use a mini marshmallows instead.
Step 15: Try different types of chocolate.
White chocolate and dark chocolate are more popular than milk chocolate in making s'mores.Dark chocolate might be the thing for you if you don't like things that are really sweet. You can also use peanut butter-filled chocolate.
Step 16: It's a good idea to add some crunch with cereals.
Add a sprinkle of your favorite breakfast cereals on top of the melted marshmallows after you have microwaved your s'more.Place the other half of the cracker on top of it.
Step 17: Add some fruit.
Before you put your s'more together, add a slice or two of banana or strawberry. For the ultimate treat, you can use both strawberries and bananas. Before assembling the s'more, spread some strawberry jam or preserves on top of the second graham cracker half.
Step 18: It can be a chocolate-peanut butter twist.
If you want to use chocolate-flavored crackers, make your s'more as usual.Smooth peanut butter can be used instead of chocolate bars or chocolate spread.
Step 19: Sprinkle it with some color and texture.
Nonpareil sprinkles are shaped like tiny balls and can be filled with a small bowl or dish.Make your s'more, then dip each of the four edges into the sprinkles. The sprinkles will give the chocolate and marshmallows a burst of color.
Step 20: S'mores can be made with melted chocolate over them.
After you have made your s'mores, melt some chocolate in the microwave and put it over them.If you want to eat the s'mores, put them in the fridge for a few minutes.Sprinkle some small candy or sprinkles over the melted chocolate to make it more colorful.
Step 21: Finished.
