Step 11: The soil needs to be water thoroughly once a week.

Step 12: The onion has papery layers.

Step 14: To expose the bulb, cut around the base of the onion.
Remove the rest of the onion from the bulb with additional cuts.Put your knife near the bulb and apply pressure to make a cut.Until all of the onion is removed, do this.If the onion is still firm, you can eat it with a meal.
Step 15: The onion stem can be put in a cup of water.
Water from your faucet will fill a bowl or cup 23 of the way.Put the onion bulb inside.If you leave the onion in the water for a few days, it will grow roots.Take your onion's roots out of the water and prepare to plant them.
Step 16: The sprouted onion center can be planted in organic soil.
Put the onion bulb in a hole deep in the garden bed.The onion bulb should be covered with compost.Water your onion bulb immediately so the roots can get to the soil.Leave the green sprout on top when planting the bulb.
Step 17: It's a good idea to water your onion a few times a week.
Water your plant with a garden hose or watering can for 30 seconds to saturate the soil.Wait for the soil to dry before watering it again.It may need to be watered daily if the weather is warm.Your onion can go a couple days without water if the weather is mild.The best time to water onions is when the soil is dry.
