Polyjuice Potion Potion information Effect allows a human drinker to temporarily assume the form of another person.

The Polyjuice Potion allowed the drinker to assume someone else's form.It was difficult for adult witches and wizards to brew it correctly.There were two separate parts to the potion that contained steps for each part.It had to be stewed for a month before being used.It was [1][2].

Polyjuice Potion could be used for both genders, but not for a human to take an animal form.[3]

The Polyjuice Potion was used many times in the events leading up to and during the Second Wizarding War, although there were no documented instances of it.In the second and fourth years of Harry Potter's life, the Potion played a crucial role.It was used in the Battle of the Seven Potters and in Harry, Ron and Hermione's Infiltration.[7]

The Polyjuice Potion needed a lot of preparation before it was made.The lacewing flies must be stewed for twenty-one days prior to making the potion, and only fluxweed can be picked during a full moon.The process took a month to complete.[9]

A piece of the person who was to be imitated, usually hair, but toenail clippings, or worse could be used, was needed for the transformation, as Barty Crouch Jnr kept Alastor Moody alive to continue.[5]

Polyjuice looked like mud before it was added.Once described as the 'essence' of the person, the piece that was to be imitated changed colour when it was added.Good-hearted people result in more attractive colors and tastes, while mean people cause the opposite effect.The taste of Gregory Goyle's cabbage was worse than that of Harry Potter.It was likely that the taste was different.

The effects of a single dose ranged from ten minutes to twelve hours.Continued drinking before the transformation wore off extended the form's duration until the next dose was required.One hour per dosage was how long the Potion took to brew.The Thief's Downfall could be used to remove the effects.It did not fool the map.

If a person died under Polyjuice Potion, they would retain the form of whoever they had transformed into, rather than reverting back to their original shape, although it might be possible that the effects of the Potion had not worn off at the time of her death.[5]

Polyjuice can be used to transform into someone else.It appeared to adapt to account for the age of the person being turned into as well as any injuries they have acquired, as Barty Crouch, Jnr needed a magical eye and wooden leg to turn into Alastor Moody.Harry Potter did not need to use his glasses to see clearly for the hour he was transformed into Gregory Goyle, even though he needed them after turning into Harry.[6]

The Obscurial Credence Barebone was looking for his true identity after he was seen in France in 1927.After meeting with Newt in London, Albus ordered him to head to Paris to find and save Barebone from the Dark wizard.The British Ministry of Magic revoked a foreign travel ban because of the events in the United States, which is what Barebone's Obscurus did.The rumour about his departure reached the British Ministry.To find out who Credence really was, he had to get to the Records Room in the French Ministry of Magic, where a family box would tell him the truth.He used Polyjuice Potion to assume his brother's identity and get inside.They were spotted by Theseus while going through the ministry headquarters.The family box was taken to the Lestrange Mausoleum after Tina stunned Theseus with the polyjuice Potion.There are no comments at this time.

In their second year, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger began to suspect that Draco Malfoy was the heir to Slytherin.The use of Polyjuice Potion would allow them to take on the form of Slytherin students and question Malfoy.The book Moste Potente Potions from the library's Restricted Section was used by Hermione to obtain the advanced Potion.

She directed the trio to get hair from their targets as well as clothing to complete the disguise.Ultimately, though Harry and Ron successfully assumed the roles of Goyle and Crabbe, Hermione's attempt to take on the guise of Millicent went awry when she mistook her hair brush for a cat hair.[3]

When Barty Crouch Jnr was sent to Azkaban by his father, his mother requested that her husband allow her to switch places to save their son.The switch was made out of love for his wife.Mrs and Barty Jnr each took a dose of Polyjuice Potion with their hair, and the switch was made.She kept the prisoners from being fooled by her false appearance by drinking her rest of the Potion until she died.[5]

In order to enter Harry Potter into the Triwizard Tournament, Barty Crouch Jnr used Polyjuice Potion to take on the appearance of Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody, Hogwarts' new Defence Against the Dark Arts professor.Harry drank from Alastor Moody's hip flask in order to prevent suspicions that he was behind the theft of the Potions.The real Moody was kept within easy reach as a prisoner in his own trunk, as the Potion could not impersonate dead people.When Harry cornered him, he forgot to take the Potion and was exposed later that year.[5]

The Polyjuice Potion was shown to his first N.E.W.T.The Potions class forced Gregory Goyle andVincent Crabbe to use it all the time.Malfoy repaired a Vanishing Cabinet inside the Room of Requirement as part of his assignment to assassinate Albus Dumbledore.[5][19]

The Order of the Phoenix used Polyjuice Potion in 1997 to remove Harry Potter from 4 Privet Drive.Six people impersonated Harry in order to act as diversions when they were attacked by Death Eaters.Harry used it to disguise himself at Bill Weasley's wedding.[6]

The Ministry of Magic was penetrated by the trio using Polyjuice that they stole from Moody.The item was in the possession of a high-raking Ministry official.They pretended to be Albert Runcorn, Reginald Cattermole, and Mafalda Hopkirk.The plan, full of mistakes and not as well thought out as previously believed, proved to be successful as the trio accomplished their mission.They escaped the ministry with minimal injuries after retrieving the locket.[20]

Ron and Hermione both use Polyjuice Potion to impersonate other people.

In order to get Helga Hufflepuff's Cup from the Lestrange Vault, Hermione used the remaining Polyjuice Potion again.Using a strand of Lestrange's hair that had fallen on her sweater, she assumed her form.Ron had to use a disguise because there wasn't enough.The Thief's Downfall washed away the effects of the Potion.[7]

Polyjuice Potion is very uncommon due to the lack of suspicion in all these incidents.

Polyjuice Potion was used by Albus Potter, Scorpius Malfoy, and Delphi to sneak into the Ministry of Magic.While they searched her office for a Time-Turner, Albus, as Ron, convinced Hermione to go somewhere else.They solved a bunch of puzzles from the bookcase and found the Time-Turner.[21]
