My tv won't turn on, but iFixit can fix it.
I own a flatscreen with a model # 43LF621U19.It wouldn't power up when I came back after I went to work. There was no noise from the fans or the power light. There was a smell of burnt plastic when I removed the shell from the wall, but I didn't see any sign of melted or smoking. The only thing I can do is check continuity, but I couldn't get readings from anything else.I found a small plastic spool with a thin copper wire wrapped around it, plastic melted where it had contact with the wire.Is there any help or thoughts?I would rather not buy a new television.
No burning is the problem.I didn't find anything when I checked the power sockets. After taking off the back plastic cover, everything seemed fine. It's our second year with it.What can I do?
I found a way to fix this after reading all of the posts that said it wasn't fixable. If you have connected the tv to the internet before, you will need to do the following to fix the problem.
2.Even if the tv is completely dark and you don't have a screen, the app should still detect it.
3.You don't need to complete the tv's chromecast setup for this.
4.The phone should tell you if the tv is on "stanby" or something.chromecast has an invisible screen saver that causes the black screen and no red light.
5.Hold down the power button on the side of the tv until you see a tv restart, then keep holding until it powers on and asks you to complete setup.
Between the time that the TV was on before you went to work and when you got home, was there a power outage or storm?
If there was a storm, the TV may be covered by your home contents insurance policy. It was worth a check.
How old is the TV if there was no storm? You say it is a new model? Is it still covered by the manufacturer's warranty?
Follow the instructions in the manufacturer's warranty statement for how to make a claim for a warranty repair or replacement.
It will be difficult to find a schematic diagram if it is no longer covered by the warranty.
Replacing the Power board may be the best option since it is not showing any signs of power, and hope that it did not affect the rest of the TV.Was it left on when you left for work?
You will only be shown the cost of the board.Other suppliers may be better for you.You can find results by searching for 43LF621U19 Power board.
It's important to make sure that the board number printed on the power board in your TV matches the one shown in the link.
If it was a storm that knocked out the TV, then connecting the repaired TV to the power via a surge protector may be a good idea in the future. It's just a thought.
It looks like the same power board as well.Is it easy to change out? There is no requirement for prowess for this stuff.
If you don't know your TV's model, the cables that connect it to the board usually pull out of the connector. If your connection is different, study it first to make sure you don't have to remove the cable or plug.If the cable has a plug end and not just a wire end, try to remove it carefully and do not pull too hard.
To protect the screen when working on the back, lay the TV face down on a blanket and double fold it.
If you forget, take some pictures so you know where to put it.If the cables have a stripe down one side, you can plug it back in the same way.
You don't want to lose the screws if you keep a jar handy. You don't want loose metal floating around in the back of a live TV if you drop any into the TV.
If there are different length screws, mark them as to their position so that you can replace them in the correct place.
If you can, don't touch the components on the power board or any other board. If possible, hold the board by the edges.
If you run into problems while doing the repair, stop and think about it.People who let frustration cause them to create more problems than they originally had are the ones asking the questions. If necessary, walk away and come back.
Even though you have replaced the power board, there may be more problems in the TV, so if it doesn't work, more testing will have to be done.

Didn't work.I got to the set up after I reset my tv.It shut off again when connecting to the internet.I ordered a new power cord from Amazon to try it out.
