Do you want to make your presentation memorable? You can use PowerPoint to create a powerful visual aid that will help make your presentation better. It can take some time to get the most out of PowerPoint, but with a little experimentation, you can have a unique presentation.Go to Step 1 to start.
Step 1: You can choose between a blank presentation and a template.
You can either create a blank presentation or a template when you start a new PowerPoint file. It's possible to apply your own style in a blank presentation, but it can take a long time.It is possible to give a presentation a uniform style, but it may not suit your needs. You can change any aspect of a template, so feel free to modify it as you please. After you've added content, you can apply themes to your project.Select a theme by clicking the Design tab.It will be applied to your project. If you don't like it, you can either go back to a blank theme or undo it.From the File tab, you can access templates.Click on the template you want to browse. You can find more templates online.
Step 2: The title slide should be created.
The first thing your audience will see is your title. It should be easy to understand the topic of the presentation. The group's name will be included on the title as well.
Step 3: You can add new slides for the content.
There is a new slide. After the slide you are on, a blank slide will be added. There are two boxes in the slide, a title box and a text box.The Insert tab can be used to insert your own objects. You can change the size of the text box by clicking and dragging. You can adjust this later by grabbing one of the corners and clicking and dragging again. To add text to your presentation, click on any text box and begin typing. You can format text the same way you would in Word, with options in the Home tab.
Step 4: There is a way to navigate the presentation.
The left side of the window has a frame that you can use to scroll through your slides. You can open that slide if you click any of them.To see an outline tree of your presentation, click the Outline tab.The slide title will be labeled.
Step 5: Take a peek at your presentation.
pressing F5 will give you a basic feel for the flow of your presentation. To advance the slides, click the mouse. The preview slide show will give you an idea of how long the presentation is and how well information flows from one slide to the next.
Step 6: The transitions between slides should be added.
Adding effects to your slides will help make them more interesting for your audience.Click the Transitions tab if you want to select a slide. There is a list of the most common transitions. The full listing of available transitions can be opened by clicking the arrow at the end of the list. The way that slide appears will be affected by the transition you pick.Adding a transition to Slide 2 will affect how Slide 1 transitions. When you click each transition, you will see a preview in the slide editing window.Don't add too many transitions to your presentation. The audience can't focus on what is the most important which is your content if you distract them with this.
Step 7: Backgrounds should be added.
White is boring.Half of your audience will be asleep before you reach the third slide if your presentation is standard text on a plain white background. It is possible to add a little visual flair to your project.Right-click on a blank section of your slide and select "Format Background", or click the Design tab and the arrow icon next to "Background" on the far right.Pick your fill type. You can choose from a solid color, a pattern fill, or a picture background. There are a number of options for it, such as fill color, picture location, and more. You should experiment until you find the right background for your presentation. The background will only be applied to the active slide. You can apply your background choices to every slide by clicking the "Apply to All" button.Make sure your text is easy to read with the background you choose.
Step 8: There are images to add.
Adding pictures, diagrams, and other visual aids can help the audience grasp the ideas of your presentation and drive your point home.Images break up the monotony of text.Click on the tab that says "Insert".There are a lot of options when it comes to placing objects.Click the picture button to take a picture. You can insert an entire album of photos into the slide by clicking the Photo Album button.Charts can be used to help the audience understand your data. You can either enter your data or copy it from an existing spreadsheet once you choose your chart type. You can use the Shapes button to make your own shapes.Shapes can be used to create arrows and other visual indicators.Don't use pictures in your presentation. The audience won't be able to read your written information if it looks too busy.
Step 9: Add more links.
Links to your slides will allow you to quickly access websites or email addresses. If you want people to be able to easily view related webpages or send you an email, this can be useful.Click the Hyperlink button on the Insert tab if you want to add a link. You can link to a file on your computer, a webpage, an email address, or even another slide in your presentation.
Step 10: There is a video.
Video files can be added to your slides. This can be useful for reports that relate to your presentation. When the slide appears, the video file will play. The Video button can be found in the Insert tab.You will be able to find video files on your computer. It's not as easy as you might think, but you can also add YouTube videos. This guide will show you how to do it.
Step 11: The number of slides needs to be kept to a minimum.
Even if your audience is obsessed with your subject matter, long presentations will still bore them.Extraneous slides will make the presentation drag and wear on the audience's interest.Try to keep your presentation short and sweet, and make sure you use the space on each slide for maximum potential.
Step 12: You should choose a good size.
It would only be a speech if the presentation was designed to be read.Make sure that your audience can easily read what you have written.People may be leaning forward in their seats straining to read when a 10 point fonts is projected on the screen.Make sure that your choice of fonts is readable. They will make your audience stop caring if they can't read it.
Step 13: There is a consistent, subtle style.
The best presentations have a deliberate style. To make your presentation stand out, use minimal amounts of color and accents. One of the templates can be used for a guide.
Step 14: Make sure you check for spelling and grammar errors.
Someone in your audience will be sure to spot a mistake if you misspell a word. You'll want to work extra hard to make sure that everything is written clearly and correctly because spelling and grammar mistakes will lower your credibility. Before you give your presentation, get someone to help you read it.A fresh set of eyes is more likely to catch mistakes.
Step 15: It is necessary to practice!
There is more to your presentation than the PowerPoint. You are the other part.Take some time to practice your talking points and move through the slides.Ensuring that each slide sums up your talking points is important. It's a big no-no to read off of your slides while you're giving a presentation. You can find more information on giving a successful presentation in this guide.
