The comfort and life of your bra can be extended if you know how to wash your bras. The safest way to wash bras is to hand wash them, but there are other ways to do it safely.
Step 1: Add detergent to the sink by filling it with warm water.
Unless you are washing a lot of items, you will only need a small amount of detergent. You can use a bucket if you don't have a sink.It is recommended that you use an alcohol-free detergent for hand washing. If you don't have any mild detergents at home, you can make your own by combining 1 cup of hot water, 1 piece of baby hair, and 1 to 2 drops of essential oil.Add your homemade detergent when you fill a sink or bucket.Add some liquid castile soap to a bucket of warm water and put it in a sink.
Step 2: The detergent must be put into the water.
You can do this by touching the water with your hand.Continue until you get some foam and bubbles. If there is not a lot of foam, don't worry; too many suds will not clean better, but waste detergent, and make rinsing a longer process.
Step 3: The bras have to be added.
Try to wash cotton bras in the same way as dark colors can affect light colors.Bras made of synthetic materials can be washed together without fear.
Step 4: The bras should be put in the water for 10 to 15 minutes.
Any oils or dirt can be dissolved by the detergent.Leave bras in the water for an hour.
Step 5: Put the bras in the correct position.
This helps with dirt and oils. The water won't be very clear by now.
Step 6: The bras can be washed with clean water.
The water should run clear. You can give them more space by rinsing them in the bathtub.
Step 7: The soapy water bath should be repeated to rinse the bras.
If your bras have not been washed in a while, you may need to give them another soak in fresh, soapy water; do not use the old, dirty water again.Don't wash the bras until there is no soap left.
Step 8: Press the bras between two towels.
If you want to cover the bra with another towel, lay it down on a towel.Press down on the towel.Do not wring the bra.
Step 9: Reshape the cups and let them dry.
You can either put the bra on the towel or hang it up.If you hang the bra to dry, do not hang it by the straps as this will cause them to stretch. The bra can be draped over a clothesline or a drying rack. The band of the bra can be clipped.
Step 10: Close the hooks and claps.
The hooks can catch on other items in the wash if you don't close your bra.Stress can be put on other laundry items when straps tangle.Do not worry if your bra does not have any closings.
Step 11: The bra should be put in a bag.
The bra will not get tangled in other things. It will protect it from the rougher items. It can be used for sorting later.
Step 12: The bra should be put into the machine with similar colors.
If you are washing your bra at the same time as the rest of the laundry, make sure you don't mix colors.White bras should be washed with other white clothes. To wash dark-colored bras, be sure to wash them with other dark colored clothes, such as navy and black.Blending colors can cause dyes to bleed, which results in faded and murky colors.
Step 13: The bra should be put in with other lightweight items.
Light-weight items, such as t-shirts, underwear, socks, and pajamas, can be washed with bras.If bras are heavier than jeans and towels, they could be damaged.
Step 14: The bra can be washed with a mild detergent and gentle cycle.
Hot water can weaken the fibers and cause the straps to become less stretchy, so be sure to use cold water.Strong detergents can eat away at the fibers and make the fabric weaker over time, so don't use them.
Step 15: If necessary, shape the bra cups after the cycle is done.
Press on the inside of the cup until the bra pops out of it's original shape. This is usually needed for shaping bras.If the bra is soaking and dripping wet, put it between two towels and press it down to remove any excess water.
Step 16: The bra should be air dried.
If you use a dryer, the heat will cause the bra straps to stretch and lose elasticity. You can drape the bra over a drying rack or clothesline to dry it.You can hang the band of the bra up to dry.The bra straps will stretch too much if the bra is hung by the straps. If you don't have a drying rack, you can lay the bra out on a dry towel. If you must use a dryer, use the "no heat" setting. It's important to keep the bra in the mesh bag. It's not likely that putting a bra in a hot or warm dryer will hurt. There is usually no reason to panic if this happens. This treatment isn't ideal, but rarely causes a bra to become useless.
