Whats the difference between Remington 700 and 783?
The Model 700, by its design was a top loading gun. This means that there is no metal going over the top or the bolt. However, the 783 is magazine fed. This creates a smaller ejection port, creating a frame that is more rigid.
Overall, Remington did a great job with this trigger. The Model 783 comes with a detachable box magazine that holds four rounds. In fact, the magazine retention and release was better than most comparable rifles. Taking 30-06 (probably the best overall hunting caliber), the Model 783 is a bolt-action rifle.Mar 7, 2020
