Santa Teresa stands out because of its large sample size.We were surprised by this.If you lived in the South Bay in California, we had heard that Santa Teresa was a good alternative to Santa Clara and San Jose.We were wrong.
The streets here are quieter than in the South Bay locations, but because of a combination of the examiners and people who took the test there, it has a very low pass rate.
Don't worry if you take a test here.If you practice ahead of time with a driver who knows what's on the test, you will be well prepared.
Many of the people we help with road tests choose this location because it's easier to get an appointment. There is a downside to a quicker appointment at this location. The pass rate in the LA area is low.
Some of our drivers have told us that there are a couple of examiners here that are particularly tough. If you end up taking a test here, here are a couple of tips.
San Mateo is one of the more difficult places to get a driver's license in the Bay Area because it is dense and the examiners are tough.
38% of the people have passed if you take your test here.Don't you want to be a part of it?That's right.Get to the area early to practice. The neighborhood is close to the 101 freeway and the traffic can be heavy.Make sure you know what to do when you pass a school bus with a stop sign because there are a few schools in the area.
Even though only half of our clients have passed here, we have viewed it as an "easier" location. The Oakland and Berkeley border area is a quieter area than the Oakland Coliseum area. The office is located in a nice neighborhood and has an adjacent park. Some of the testers are happier and less stressed due to the nicer environment.
We did a mock road-test video for this location. If you're taking the test here, we recommend watching that video and getting to know some of the left-hand turns in the area ahead of time, as they can be difficult.
It is similar to the Santa Teresa DMV in that it has earlier road test openings. At least compared to other places. Some of the examiners here can be tough, so be warned if you decide to book an appointment here. There is nothing particularly difficult about the area, but some of the examiners are no-nonsense.
Most people fail their road test if they make a critical driving error. No matter what state you go to, you should avoid these critical driving errors.
If you're in the East Bay, El Cerrito is a great alternative. The area is not too challenging and you can often find earlier appointments here.It is a much quieter place. It's very rare for there to be more than one car in line ahead of you, based on our data. You have a chance to get in and out quickly.
It is comforting to know that El Cerrito has friendly examiners.Check out the area ahead of time. It's a good idea to know what to expect when there is construction in the area.
For some reason, the Redwood City DMV books a lot of appointments so you can often find earlier availability. It's not uncommon to have more than one car in line ahead of you and you have to wait over an hour to take your test.
If you want an earlier test date and don't mind a little waiting, Redwood City is a good option. The routes are easier and the examiners are friendly. The area has a bit of construction recently so be sure to get there early and drive around the area.
The South Bay DMV's are usually packed and this one is no exception. There are long lines at the offices between San Jose and Santa Clara.Sometimes it helps speed up the wait if more examiners are available. You should be prepared to wait if you go to San Jose.
The streets are busy so expect to be a bit more cautious. For any road test location, examiners want to know if you are a safe driver. Are you a good driver?Let them know that the answers are yes and yes.
Concord is a great place to live. Many people booking here because they can get quicker appointments and the examiners are nicer. If you're able to get an appointment here, it could be worth the extra time.
One of the main examiners at the Concord Department of Motor Vehicles is probably the friendliest examiner we've ever heard of.He will greet you in your language no matter where you are from.He is an example of an examiner who will make you feel comfortable before your test.
The pass rate in Santa Clara was 75%.We thought it would be less than half.People talk a lot about how difficult Santa Clara is to take a test. That impression is reinforced by a combination of tough examiners, a busy test queue, and some tricky streets.
This was one of the highest pass rates we had.Maybe it was because people who were really nervous avoided this area. We're going to find out why the pass rate is so different from what we've heard.
One client passed here last week after we practiced with him for an hour. The examiner yelled at him during the test and afterwords, "Why are you lying to my face!"He still passed. If you have thick skin, give this one a try.
This is a big surprise. Many people don't want to take their test in San Francisco because of the perception that it's too busy and crowded. The area has a lot of bike lanes and pedestrians, but it is not difficult. There are some friendly examiners here.
Don't worry, you can take your behind-the-wheel test at the San Francisco Department of Motor Vehicles. You can get on your way to getting a license if you prepare in the neighborhood ahead of time.
Daly City has an 85% pass rate. That's amazing. This location can have quicker openings if you don't want to take the test in San Francisco.
There are some quiet residential areas and a few main streets in this area. The behind-the-wheel test queue has never been that long, so it's not a bad wait.
When we looked at the data, we were surprised to see that some of the easy ones had low pass rates. We want to give future road test takers some helpful insight from the data.
You can still get to know the area and how the test is scored, and practice driving, even if you don't get a perfect score on your test. There are some "DMV test hacks", but our best advice is to practice and practice.
If you'd like to take a road test at one of our locations, we offer express appointments. If you're not ready to hit the road, we don't want to be driving next to you.Just before your road test, you can practice with us.
