Is the egg a chicken period?
In order to get people to stop using animal products, fill them with bad facts.
That tactic is used by some hardcore vegan to force people out of their animal product addiction.Although I am not a big fan of animal products or meat, I think that there are better ways to convince people than this method.
I accidentally landed on an article that inspired the creation of this write-up when I was surfing through the internet to learn more about eggs and their uses.
The article was written by a vegan and claimed that an egg was nothing but a chicken's period.
That sounded silly and untrue yet there was a biological explanation for why it was so.At least I thought so.
I still didn't believe I had period for breakfast.I decided to do my own research.
I was finally able to dig up the truth after going through boring embryology papers.
Eggs are not chicken periods.Chickens don't have periods.Menstrual cycle is a natural phenomenon that can only be seen in females of certain mammals.A chicken is not a mammal.mammals of the animal kingdom are known to menstruate.
Chickens do not have periods and menstruation is a phenomenon exclusive to mammals.
I developed a simple approach which is based on common sense and I will try to prove that chicken don't have periods.
We need to understand the concept of periods in mammals as well as how a chicken is able to lay eggs for this approach. We will try to find out if there is a relationship between periods and chickens.
In some female mammals, when the animal or person reaches sexual maturity, she begins a development process called the menstrual cycle or estrus cycle.
During the beginning of this cycle, mature eggs are released from her ovaries and sent to a waiting room for fertilization, the part of the reproductive system that produces eggs.
If the egg or eggs come in contact with a sperm during the waiting period, they will be fertilized and sent to a nursing home to live, get nourished and potentially grow into a baby. The mammal is said to be pregnant.
The egg cannot turn into a baby if it fails to come in contact with a sperm, which means no sexual activity occurred. The reproductive system will detect this as a failed fertilization attempt and will eliminate this unfertilized egg along with its nursing home through the vagina, so that another cycle can begin. The mammal is said to have a period.
Depending on the mammal, the process can take up to a month. It is repeated over and over again until the female mammal is no longer able to reproduce naturally.
The development and release of eggs from the ovary in a hen is the same as it is in menstruating mammals.Sexual activity doesn't have to happen before eggs are formed. We will refer to the eggs as yolk from now on.
It can't be referred to as a menstrual cycle because it happen in defined cycles.
The egg white, chalaza, and shells are waiting to be added to a chicken's oviduct, which is like an assembly line.
The waiting room is where the egg is expected to come in contact with a sperm for fertilization.
After the waiting period is over, the fertilized or unfertilized yolk is passed down to the other parts of the oviduct where it is fully formed into an egg and then expelled through the vagina.
We are seeing something a little bit different with hens. The reproductive stages of an unfertilized egg are the same as those of a fertilized egg.In all mammals, that is not the case.Eggs that are unfertilized are thrown away.
Since the above method isn't working, we'll try to see things from a different angle and consider what happens after a chicken lays her eggs. This should tell us why she is doing that.
The chicken has no idea if the eggs it laid were fertilized or not.The only thing it does is act on instincts and want to hatch them.
Periods occur when there is a failed fertilization. The body finds an unfertilized egg and expels it along with the proposed nursing home because they are no longer needed. There is room for a new cycle to begin and a nursing home to be prepared for the next egg.
The key things that should define a period are unwanted and unfertilized.
A female mammal menstruation is caused by removing tissues and unfertilized eggs that she no longer needs.
The reproductive stages of an unfertilized egg in a chicken are the same as those of fertilized eggs.
All eggs that a chicken lays are supposed to be fertilized.A chicken would instinctively sit on its eggs, fertilized or unfertilized, with the intention of hatching them into baby chick. In the course of this, it can get all broody: refusing to eat and even sacrificing its own health.
The statement "all eggs laid by a hen are supposed to be fertilized" must be true if a chicken is sitting on unfertilized eggs in an effort to hatch it.
What mechanism is in place to check for unfertilized eggs in a chicken's reproductive system?I will leave you to answer that.
This proves that the first statement about chickens laying eggs for the purpose of hatching them into chick hold is true since we have established that all eggs laid by a chicken are supposed to be fertilized.
Why does a period happen? To prepare the body for the next menstrual cycle by eliminating unfertilized eggs along with its proposed nursing bed.Why does a chicken lay eggs? They can simply hatch them.
I don't think anyone would need glasses to see that there is no correlation between the two Why's.
A chickens natural reason for laying eggs is to potentially hatch them into healthy chicks and not because it is getting rid of unfertilized eggs that it no longer needs.
Eggs have to be periods because chickens and humans lay unfertilized eggs.
This claim is made without considering why mammals menstruate and hens lay eggs, and the fact that hens also lay fertilized eggs.
When a chicken lays a fertilized egg, its reproducing, and when it lays unfertilized eggs, it has its period.
I couldn't have said that better than you did.If my parents and I don't look at their eggs to make sure they are good to hatch, many eggs will be unfertilized and baby chicks will not come from them. The vegan community make them look bad, but my grandmother ate pig fat and only animals raised at the country side, and she lived almost 90 years old.She never had a medical problem in her life.Going vegan is not going to make you healthy.I went vegan for 5 years and developed chronic gastritis, weight fluctuations and lack of energy.I'm not saying vegan diet is bad, but it's not for everyone. We all have different needs. Some veganholics should stop being so harsh on people who eat meat.We don't live forever, and no one can tell us what is good or bad, only you can.
If God wanted us to be vegan, he would have made sure we had all the necessary vitamins and minerals.Manmade pills must be taken as supplements for the vegan diet. It's not a compelling argument for their diet.I sympathize with the view that killing other creatures as food is morally reprehensible.I limit my intake of meat and fish.
It's unnatural to consume meat from farm animals since they also receive supplements.
ruminant animals such as cows, goats, sheep are able to make their own B12.To be able to produce B12 on their own, ruminant animals receive a supplement. On top of other supplements.Farmed fish are the biggest consumer of Omega 3 fish oil on the planet.Do you know how fish get their Omega 3?They get them from nature.Since fish aren't fed algae, they need to be replaced with fish oil.You know what this means?
The animals that get the cheapest quality supplements are filters. It's Bon apetit.
You are trying to convince yourself that egg is not a period of hen, but your explanation proves it.All living organisms have periods in different ways.
What data are you using to make your claims? If God wanted us to eat animals, he would have grown them from the soil and replant them in the ground with seeds. My doctor told me I have the insides of a teenager because I've been a plant based eater most of my 57 years.I am fit, full of energy, and don't get headaches or nausea.Where did I go wrong??
Hey, I'm a vegan.I do not take man-made pills.I get on a vegan diet and I'm perfectly healthy. If you were trying to make a point, you shouldn't bash others.A garden full of food and animals was given to us by God.Animals were not eaten.Eggs aren't for us to eat, that's the only issue I had with this article. My friend had chick's and if they didn't hatch, the hen would eat the eggs.A vegan friend of mine has a hen that will eat her own eggs when she lays them. She doesn't suffer because it's not fertilized.Humans had to eat meat again.I'm curious as to what you think can't be done on a vegan diet.We don't know what vitamins mineral and fats are.I can't find anything after doing my research.So...My husband and my 2 kids are not vegan.I do not force my ethics on anyone.I agree with the first comment. You can use it as an example as long as you don't say it's the same cause as before. After finding out how they are made, I think it's gross.I will never eat honey or dairy again.
Your teeth are not made for a carnivore diet, your canines are to break fruit and nuts, just like monkeys.Your teeth are not straight.
