How much spending money do you need for Semester at Sea?
While we strongly discourage the use of debit cards and cash, they are acceptable options to fund shipboard accounts. If a participant prefers to settle their shipboard account in cash, then the participant must maintain a $500 credit balance on their shipboard account for the entire voyage.
How much does semester at Seas cost?
Tuition, room, board and incidentals cost upwards of $20,000 per student, not including side trips at about a dozen ports-of-call. Students can select from 300 field trips organized by the Institute for Shipboard Education (ISE) and Semester At Sea to give them an opportunity to learn about local history and culture.
Do you have to pay for Semester at Sea?
What is the Payment Policy? In order to confirm your intent to participate for the upcoming term, you must submit your $1,000 deposit online. The entire balance of the program cost is due 90 days prior to sailing (excluding participants enrolled in the Semester at Sea payment plan).
Does everyone get into Semester at Sea?
Yes, students from all majors regularly enroll in Semester at Sea. More than 40 majors are typically represented on any given voyage.
Is Semester at Sea competitive?
Semester at Sea is an incredibly unique study abroad experience that a lot of people at home think is a semester off or “not a real study abroad program”; but SAS is challenging in totally different ways than a “normal” study abroad experience. It is challenging because so much happens in a short period.
What GPA do you need for Semester at Sea?
