This ribbon cable consists of tinned copper conductors extruded in PVC insulation. This cable is also shielded with aluminum/polyester tape and has a black PVC jacket. This shielded cable has a maximum temperature of 105° C and is rated to 150V.
How do you protect ribbon cables?
- Putting aluminum tape around cables and grounding it on metal case.
- Separating and twisting flat cables as much as possible (tho that would look ugly and messy so I would like to avoid that)
- Distancing them with one from another with aluminum tape and foam tape.
What are the different types of ribbon cable?
Most ribbon cables are color coded for pin one usually red in color. The cable types are Flat cable, Flat Jacket, Ground Plane, Round Jacket, Split Conductor, Flat Twin Axial, and Flat Twisted Pair with the number of conductors ranging from 2 to 154 and pitch ranging from 0.017” (0.43mm) to 0.394” (10.00mm).
