Interjet has a generous baggage policy with a weight allowance per piece of 55 pounds.The usual allowance for airlines is 50 pounds.
Baggage is included in all fares, apart from Ultra Light, across all routes and Light tickets between Mexico and the U.S. or Canada.
You will be charged for excess luggage if the weight limit is more than 55 pounds (25 kilograms) for flights in Mexico and to/from Latin America.Fees can be applied to increase your weight allowance to 66 pounds.
If your luggage is a large oversized piece, such as a TV, car parts, or air conditioning unit, then you may be charged a fee.
Information relating to the transportation of flat-panel TVs, sporting equipment, musical instruments, and other items can be found in the Interjet special baggage policy.
Interjet does not offer a U.S. credit card with free baggage.You may want to charge your Interjet baggage fees to your Capital One card.You can use your credit card points to get rid of excess baggage purchase using the Purchase Eraser tool.
You can redeem your Venture card points at a value of 1 cent per point towards any travel purchase, including baggage fees.If you redeem your points within 90 days of the purchase, the $130 Special Baggage fee will be forgiven.
Passengers can pre-pay their luggage online at Interjet.To pre-pay, log in to your booking and add the number of bags that you would like to purchase, up to 5 for standard luggage and 7 for special luggage.
The route and fare type affect the number of bags and weight.The allowance for each fare type is shown in the table above.
Baggage is charged with some fare types.The Ultra Light fare is for flights between Mexico and the U.S. or Canada.For flights to/from Cuba, the first bag costs $30, while all other destinations cost $30.
The weight of each piece is determined by the fare type purchased and route.All but one fare type and route has an individual piece allowance.2 x 55 pound (25 kilo) bags are allowed per passenger with the priority fare.
Priority fare passengers can have 2 x 55 pound (25 kilogram) bags as their free allowance for all routes.
