How To Use Google Assistant

You can learn how to set up the Google Assistant.The voice activated smart assistant is called the Google Assistant.It can be used on most phones and tablets.

Step 1: Go to the app on your phone.

You can find the rainbow "G" icon on your home screen or in the app drawer.You have to enable voice commands in the settings before you can use them on your device.

Step 2: There's more to tap.

There is a tab in the lower right corner.There is an icon that looks like 3 dots.

Step 3: You can tap on the settings.

It is near the bottom of the menu.It's next to an icon that looks like a gear.

Step 4: A voice can be tapped.

This will open your voice settings.

Step 5: Go to Voice Match and tap on it.

The first option is below the "Okay".

Step 6: Next to "Access with Voice Match", turn on.

This allows you to use your voice on your phone.

Step 7: Retrain voice model.

It's below a voice model.This will help the assistant recognize your voice.

Step 8: I agree.

There is a blue button in the lower right corner.

Step 9: Follow the instructions.

The instructions ask you to say "Ok" and "Hey" at the same time.A voice model of your voice is created.

Step 10: Say "OK" into the microphone.

There is a word on the screen.The home button can be held at the bottom of the screen.

Step 11: Say something.

Here are a few examples of voice commands you can use with OK Google: Calendars and reminders: "Set an alarm for 7 AM tomorrow morning." "Remind me to call Susie at 4:30 PM next Tuesday."You can learn how to set up the calendar.Travel: "Fastest route to work." "What time is my flight?" "Where's the nearest bar?"You can play a video on the TV."Turn the bedroom lights on."You can learn how to add smart devices to your home network by reading "How to Set Up Google Home".Other searches include: what does sarcasm mean, what's the tip for $68 bill, and who invented the lead pencil.

Step 12: Go to the app on your phone.

Step 16: There is a Personal info tab.

There is a tab at the top of the screen.

Step 17: Refer to it as Nickname.

Under the "Personal info" tab, it's the first option.You can tell the assistant your name here.

Step 18: The first line should be tapped.

"What should assistant call you?" is below the first line.There is an icon that looks like a pencil on the right.

Step 19: Click Ok if you want to type your name.

Tap below "pronunciation" to hear your name being said by the Google Assistant.If the Google Assistant doesn't say your name right, you can teach it how to say it.

Step 20: Go to the app on your phone.

Step 21: You can tap more.

The tab is in the lower-right corner.The icon looks like 3 dots.

Step 22: Go to settings.

Step 24: There is a personal info tab.

The first tab is at the top of the screen.

Step 25: You can tap your places.

There are two options under the Personal info tab.It's next to an icon that looks like a house.This opens the home and work locations menu.

Step 26: Add a home address.

It's the first line in the menu.

Step 27: You can type your home address.

You can find your address on the map and see a list of places.

Step 28: To find your home address, tap it.

You now have your home address.

Step 29: You can add the work address.

The second bar is on the Home & work locations menu.

Step 30: You can type your address.

This search shows a list of locations.

Step 31: Go to your work address.

Your work address is added to your locations.With your home and work address added, you can get updates on your commute.

Step 32: There is a tap.

It's in the left corner.The settings menu is where this comes back to.

Step 33: Get around by tapping.

The third option is under the personal info tab.It is next to an icon that looks like a car.

Step 34: The radial button is next to your preferred mode of transportation.

For how you get to work as well as other places, you can select your preferred mode of transportation.Drive a car, take public transit, walk, and bike are your options.

Step 35: Go to the app.

Step 37: Go to settings.

Step 40: Payments can be made using tap payments.

It's at the bottom of the list.If you plan on doing online shopping with the assistant, this is where you add credit cards.

Step 43: Enter your card information.

You can use the spaces provided to enter your credit card number and CVC code.

Step 44: There is a delivery address.

The payment method box is below.

Step 45: You can add a new address.

It's at the bottom of the list.

Step 46: Click Save to fill out the form.

Your name, country, street address, apartment number, state, zip code, and phone number can be entered using the spaces provided.When you are done, tap.

The third option is under the Services tab.You add music streaming services here.

Step 53: You can use a music streaming service.

Music streaming services can use the Google Assistant.Deezer is one of the companies included in these.Go to the list of available services and tap the service you want to link to.

Step 54: You can open a link account.

You can use the sign in screen to sign into the service.

Step 55: You have to sign in to use the service.

To sign in to the music streaming service, use the email and password associated with your music account.

Step 56: There is a default music streaming service.

You can find a list of music streaming services under "Your music services".Next to the service you want to select, there is a radial button.When you want the assistant to play music, you can use this service.

It is in the upper left corner.This returns to the menu.

Step 58: Videos and photos can be tapped.

There are five options under the Services tab.It's next to an icon that looks like a TV screen.

Step 59: Click below to access a streaming service.

A variety of streaming services can be linked with your assistant.There are also CBS, Starz, andYouTube Kids.

Step 60: You can open a link account.

You can see a sign in the screen that tells you to log in to your account.

Step 61: You must log in to your account.

If you have a password associated with your account, use it to log in to the screaming service.

There are different categories for news sources, such as General, Technology, Business, Sports, World, and more.

Step 70: You can tap.

It is in the upper left corner.This comes back to the News menu.

Step 71: You can change the order.

There is a blue text on the right above your list of news sources.

Step 72: You can drag the news source with the icon.

There is a possibility that this is not the case.There is an icon with lines to the right of each news source.Drag the icon to change the order.You should put your favorite news sources at the top.

Step 73: Go to the app.

Step 74: You can tap more.

Step 75: Go to settings.

Each colored circle has a different voice you can choose from.A sample of how the voice sounds can be heard when you tap a colored circle.The circle is the voice you want the assistant to have.

There is an icon that looks like a sun and a moon.A routine is a command you can give your assistant.

Step 90: There is a ready-made routine.

"Good Morning" is one of the ready-made routines that the Google Assistant has.You can add a custom routine by tapping the blue icon with a plus sign.To start the routine, tap and type the command you want to say.Multiple commands can be added for each routine.

Step 91: The actions for the routine are next to the checkboxes.

Each routine can take multiple actions.Next to the actions you want the assistant to take, tap the check boxes.To add a custom action to a routine, tap at the bottom of the list.You can type the command for the action you want the assistant to take."What's the news" is an example.To change the order of actions, tap the top of the list.Then tap the icon with two lines to the right of a routine and drag it to change the order of the action.

Step 92: "Ok Google" followed by the name of a routine.

Step 94: Say "Ok Google stop"

Say "Ok Google Stop" if you want to quit in the middle of the app.
