When you are doing it for the first time, it may seem like a challenge.Start by tying the neck loop if you have a bib.Determine if you want to tie your apron in the front or back based on your needs.It is easier to tie it in front if the strings are long.Soon, you will be tying your apron without even thinking about it.
Step 1: The bib should be below your collar bone.
The top part of the apron covers your chest.It will kill you if it is too high.It will not keep your shirt clean if you put it too low.
Step 2: If there is a single bib loop, tie a knot in the back of the loop.
You should put the loop over your head.Determine the right height for your bib.Tie a knot at the back of the loop to shorten it so your apron hangs where you want it to hang.
Step 3: If the apron has a tie/loop closure, thread the tie through the loop.
Start by threading the tie through the loop.Put the bib where you want it.The loose end should be tied around the loop.
Step 4: If you have a long neck loop, cut it and tie a knot.
Cut the neck look in half.Tie the strings in a knot behind your neck when you position your bib.Before you cut the strings, make sure you have the apron on and off.Cut the dangling parts of the strings so they don't interfere with your work.
Step 5: Put your apron strings in the back.
Take one tie in each hand and put it behind you.A few twists won't matter if your ties are not overly twisted.
Step 6: Using a bow or knot, tie them together.
Before you start your knot, make sure your apron is tight by pulling the ties together.If you feel like you're cutting off circulation, don't make it so tight.You can tie the strings in a shoelace knot.
Step 7: To test its strength, tug on the knot.
Pull on your apron with care.You do not want a knot that will fall out while you are working.If it falls out, redo it.
Step 8: Practice tying with your eyes closed.
Many people have trouble tying behind their backs.Take your apron off and place it on a table in front of you.Take one tie in each hand, close your eyes, and practice tying it.
Step 9: If the apron falls below your knees, it's time to test it.
Tie your neck loop as you plan to wear it.If you plan on wearing an apron, hold it at your waist.If your apron hangs below your knees, look in a mirror.You can hem your apron with scissors, a sewing machine or hemming tape if it hangs below your knees.If you don't have time to sew, just grab the apron at the hips and fold it up.You have shortened your apron if you hold this in place while you tie it.
Step 10: Bring your apron's ties behind you so that you can see them at the front.
Put one tie in each hand.Pass them behind your back, then switch hands and bring them to the front again.
Step 11: You can tie your apron in a bow or knot.
If you can't breathe, pull the ties tight.You can use a shoelace knot, slip knot or half-hitch knot.
Step 12: Pull your knot gently to see if it is strong.
From the top to the bottom, tug on your apron.If your knot falls out, try a different kind of knot.
