Instead of waiting days for the shoes to dry, toss them in the dryer for a few minutes. The shoes should be hung from the dryer door. This will help you keep your sanity since the shoes won't bang around as they dry.You shouldn't dry animal-fabrics, such as leather or suede, in the dryer because they will dry out too much and crack.
Step 1: If you can machine dry them, check the shoes' label.
You can find the care information on the inside of the shoes. This is usually on the tongue. If you need to air dry them, the label should tell you.If you see a square with an X in it, don't dry it in the machine. You can dry shoes with low heat if there is a circle in the square.
Step 2: There are machines that dry canvas, cotton, or shoes.
If you can't find the care label or it's rubbed off, consider what material the shoes are made of.If the shoes are made of cotton, canvas, nylon, or polyester, you can use the dryer.Machine drying animal-based fabrics can make them crack, so don't use it.You don't want to dry shoes with adornments because they may fall off.
Step 3: Attach a knot to the shoelaces.
Place the shoes next to each other. To tie the shoes together, tie a knot with the laces.
Step 4: Put the shoes in the machine and close the laces.
Put the shoes by the laces over the door and put them in the dryer. It's possible to do this for a front or top-loading dryer.Keep the laces in place by closing the door. The laces should be outside of the dryer. The shoes will not fall into the dryer if you turn the machine on.Some dryers have a drying rack that you can use to dry your wet shoes.
Step 5: The dryer should be turned to the air dry setting.
Program your machine to the lowest temperature if it doesn't have this setting. It's important to use little or no heat so your shoes don't shrink as the fabric dries.
Step 6: Check the shoes after they have been dry for 20 minutes.
Leave the shoes in the machine for 20 minutes. Before they fall, open the door and catch the shoes. You can feel the inside of the shoes to make sure they're dry.If the shoes aren't completely dry, hang them on the door and dry them for another 5 minutes.
Step 7: Don't put shoes into the dryer.
If you've ever thrown a pair of shoes into the dryer, you are familiar with the loud banging sound they make. The inside of the machine and the outside of your shoes can be damaged if you put loose shoes in the dryer.Wrap the shoes in a laundry bag if you can't hang them against the door. The bag and towels should be put into the dryer to prevent the shoes from banging against the machine.
Step 8: It's a good idea to dry your shoes.
It's difficult to tell how the heat from a dryer will affect your shoes.Depending on the quality of the shoes, drying them in the machine can warp or shrink them.If you want to get the best result, hang the shoes by the laces from a clothesline or put them on a drying rack and leave them to dry for a day or two.If you can, put the shoes in the sun.
Step 9: It's a good idea to limit how often you dry the shoes.
If you put your shoes in the dryer occasionally, they will not be damaged. The fabric and soles of the shoes will shrink or warp as you machine dry them. You can either air dry your shoes or use a machine to dry them.
