Straight hair can be pretty. It is shiny and sleek.Hair straighteners can leave your hair looking straight, with no movement or volume. There are a few tricks you can use to give your hair more volume. You can start with either dry or wet hair, but the process will be quicker with dry hair.
Step 1: You should apply heat protectant to your hair.
This is very important. It won't do much to give your hair more volume, but it will protect it from heat damage and make it less brittle. The ends of your hair tend to get damaged the easiest.
Step 2: The top half of your hair needs to be put in a bun.
You should have at least three layers on your hair.If you have a lot of hair, you will have to work in thinner sections.
Step 3: Start with a small section of hair.
Attach your iron to the small section of hair, as close as you can to your head, without burning yourself.
Step 4: The iron should be pulled upwards and away.
Pull the iron upwards by a few inches, instead of pulling it straight down.Pull the iron from your head when you get halfway across your hair. It's easier to pull the iron away from your arm when you pull it upwards. If you can't touch your hair, use a hair brush. If your hair straightener is set to too high of a temperature, you might want to lower it a little.
Step 5: The rest of the bottom layer should be straightened.
Once you're done, you can move on to the next layer or tease your hair.If you choose to tease your hair, give it a quick spray with a flexible hairspray to set the style while allowing movement and flow.
Step 6: The rest of your hair needs to be straightened.
Work in layers and small sectionsThe thicker your hair is, the more layers you have to work with.
Step 7: Run your hands through your hair.
Go through your hair with your fingers. This will give your hair a lift. You can give your hair a spray if you want to.
Step 8: You can spray your hair.
It is important that your hair is protected from heat damage.Hair that has been damaged by heat can look dry or ratted. To prevent this from happening, apply a heat protectant spray to your hair.
Step 9: Pull the top part of your hair out.
The bottom third or fourth of your hair should be loose. The thicker your hair is, the more sections you need to work with.
Step 10: Start near your hair line.
Take a small section of hair and place a round brush under it.Put the hairdryer over the brush.
Step 11: The brush should be pulled slowly towards the ends of your hair.
The hairdryer should be kept directly over the brush.Don't pull the brush all the way to the ends of your hair.
Step 12: Roll the brush back towards your head.
Pull the brush past your hair if it is not smooth.Roll the hair around with the brush when your hair is smooth.
Step 13: Wait until your hair cools, then pull the brush out of the hair.
As it cools, leave the brush in your hair.Pull the brush out of your hair when it is cool to the touch. You can move on to the next section at this point.Give your hair a quick spray with a lightweight hairspray if it's fine.Wait for your hair to cool before turning your hairdryer on.
Step 14: The rest of the layer should be straightened in a similar fashion.
Continue working in small sections and thin layers until you have straightened your hair.
Step 15: If you have to, run a paddle brush through your hair.
You can go about your day if you are happy with this look.If you don't have straight hair, you can use a hair straightener through the ends and upper layers. If you want to pull the hair straightener through your hair, use an upwards motion.Extra volume will be created by this.Roll your hair up in a round brush or thermal styling brush about 112 to 2 inches away from your head. Before you pull the brush out, keep it in your hair.If you want to make your hair straighter, you need to pass the hair straightener through your head under the brush.
Step 16: If you want to volumize your hair, give it a spray with a quick spray.
Move your fingers through your hair, starting at your forehead.Extra volume will be created by this. You can style your hair as you please after that.
