A Virtual Private Network is a connection you can set up between 2 computers that establishes a secure path between a computer with public internet access and a machine that is connected to a private network, such as the network at your place of business.You need to gather specific criteria for each computer, such as the internet protocol address or domain name, a usernames and password, and any other applicable settings, to set up a virtual private network.You can enter this information into the settings menu of your computer.Instructions for setting up a virtual private network in Windows 7 and Macintosh computers are provided in this guide.
Step 1: You can access the menu on the remote computer.
The computer will be used for public Internet access, not as a server.Click on the "Start" button to start your computer.You can type "VPN" into the search box at the bottom of the floating menu.When the virtual private network connection appears in the search results, it should be located within the Control Panel.The wizard will be launched by this.
Step 2: The outgoing connection needs to be configured.
You can enter the name of the computer or server that you want to connect to within the field.Inform the IT administrator who manages the network if you don't have this information.Click the button if you want to access the network.
Step 3: The outgoing connection should be initiated.

Step 6: The incoming connection should be established.
Click on "Next" if you want all users to connect to this network through the Internet.Indicate the type of internet protocol you want to use.Users usually choose the option of "TCP/IPv4."You can allow access by clicking on the button.The outgoing computer will be able to use a private network.
Step 7: Obtain the network settings from the IT admin.
You will need these settings to set up a virtual private network connection on the computer with public internet access.
Step 8: Access the menu.
Click directly on your Apple menu, point to "System Preferences" and choose the option for "Network."
Step 9: Enter the settings for the internet connection.
Click on the "Add" button that resembles a plus symbol at the bottom of the Network menu, then choose "VPN" from the list of options provided.Select the type of connection you want to use, then enter the name of the connection.Click on "Authentication settings" if you want to restrict access to the server you are connecting to.Click "OK" to enter the password and usernames provided to you by your IT admin.
Step 10: The private network can be accessed using a VPNs connection.
Click on the button at the bottom of the window to connect.You will be able to access the private network through a proxy.
