The pieces of furniture that are connected by hooks are called sectional sofas. They can be detached for easy moving and rearranging.Separating the pieces involves locating the clasps that hold the sofa together and lifting the couch section out of the attachment. You can rearrange the sofa as you please.
Step 1: The couch cushions need to be removed.
While you are moving the couch sections, the cushions will get in the way.You have to grab the handles that separate the pieces. You can access all the handles if you remove the cushions.Put the cushions in a safe place if you are moving the couch. If they are too close, someone could trip on them.Certain parts of the couch have specific cushions on them.Track the cushions on each section if this is the case. There are attached cushions on some couches.Just find the corner and start connecting the sections. To see if there are handles, push the cushions aside.
Step 2: The couch sections connect on the square corner.
The focal point of sectional couches is usually a square corner piece. There are two sections that connect to this square. When you remove this corner, the rest of the couch will fall apart.
Step 3: Lift up the corner section with the lip or handle.
There is a designated place for sectional sofas to be lifted from.If the square corner has a plastic lip, put your fingers under it.Lift up and remove this piece from the other sections.Lift the couch if it doesn't have a handle.Different sofas use different methods. Some have clasps that slide together while others don't.Lifting straight up is the procedure for removing the pieces. The corner should be disconnected from the other section before you try to move it.It is possible to rip the sofa if you pull on a section that is still attached.
Step 4: Check if other sections detach as well.
The corner and 2 attachment are the only pieces that make up a sectional sofa.On larger sofas, the sitting sections detach into multiple pieces.Check to see if there are any gaps in the sections.Lift the sections straight up if they do.If you don't know if your couch breaks up into more pieces, consult the manual that came with it.If you didn't save the manual, you can use the internet to find the brand and model of the couch.
Step 5: Decide if you want to connect the pieces again or not.
Depending on the type of décor you want in your homeIf you have room for a fully- connected sofa, you should detach the sections completely.Leaving the sections separate will allow you to spread your room out more.Sitting in the square corner is awkward and some people prefer keeping the sections separate. The longest part of the sofa should be used as a couch.Use the smaller sections as love seats or corner furniture. To create a cozy atmosphere, arrange the pieces around a coffee table.
Step 6: The couch sections have a connection on them.
There are two ways in which sectional sofas connect. The method for connecting and detaching them is different. You need to find a way to attach them to the sofa. You can see the pins on the side of the couch when the sections are removed. There is a hook on one side and a sockets on the other. There are snaps underneath the sofa. There is a pin on one side and a fork on the other side. The fork pokes out from under the couch. The pin is connected to the other side by a fork.
Step 7: The hook needs to be lifted into the sockets for the pins.
The hook has to go into the sockets from the top.The hook is on one side and the sockets on the other.Slowly lower the hook section into the sockets. The corner piece is usually the section with the hook that makes lifting easier. It will be easier to ask someone to help if you have trouble lifting. The stress from yourself can be alleviated by lifting and moving the sections together.
Step 8: The fork should be put into the pin.
The pin has to go into the fork section.Find the fork section first.Place the two couch sections side by side.Push the fork section into the pin section. This shows that the sections are connected. The backs have to line up because the pin is not visible, so this is the only way to make sure the sections meet each other. If you don't hear a sound, the fork missed the pin.Make sure the back sections are lined up when you pull the fork section back out.The fork and pin might not have been installed in line with each other if the couch sections were lined up.Look under the couch with a flashlight to find the pin.
Step 9: The couch cushions should be replaced.
Put the cushions back after you connected all the couch sections. You can now sit on a sectional sofa. There is a cushion that goes with the square corner on some sofas. It would be different from the other cushions. If you have a different cushion than the others, put it on the corner piece.
