It can take anywhere from a few seconds to a couple of minutes.Your computer's internet should come back on once the unit finishes rebooting.
Step 10: You have to make sure you are qualified for this method.
If you rent your modem from an internet service provider, you can call them and ask them to restart it.When you're away from the network, it's the only way to restart an ISP-owned routers.If you're not renting your modem from an internet service provider, this won't work.
Step 11: Determine who your internet service provider is.
If you don't know who your internet service provider is, you can find out by looking at your online cable bill or charges on your credit or debit card statement.
Step 12: Look up your internet service provider's tech support number.
You can do this by searching for your internet service provider's name and the phrase "customer service phone number" in a web browser.To see the phone number at the top of the search results, you would have to type comcast customer service number into the browser.
Step 13: You can call your internet service provider.
You can call the customer service number.An automated greeting will result from this.
Step 14: You can navigate through the automated prompts.
If you want to speak with a representative before proceeding, you'll have to say so; this process will vary depending on the internet service provider.
Step 15: You should give the representative your account information.
Tell the representative your phone number, account number and/or address.Not all representatives of the internet service provider will need this information.Some internet service providers will need more information to confirm your account.
Step 16: To restart your modem, please ask the representative.
If they can restart the modem, they should do so, though they may ask you to confirm account information.
