Images make it easier for others to learn. They show the text. It's easy to add them from the guided or advanced editor. If you use the article creation tool to write your article, you can publish it with text only, and then add images using the steps below.
Step 1: At the top of the article, click on the edit tab.
Step 2: Place your mouse at the end of the step.
You can always copy and paste the image tag later, but if you know what you want the picture to look like, just put your cursor at the end of the main step. You can put it in the beginning.
Step 3: The Add Image to Steps button can be found in the Guided Editor.
You can find the text at the top of the box in the Advanced Editor. The articles with parts or methods can't be opened in Guided Editor.Under the steps section is where you'll find it in the Guided Editor.Add- image to awikihow-article-guided-editor.png
Step 4: The image can be found on your computer.
This should be a photo you've created, not one you found on another website, because of copyright concerns.
Step 5: A descriptive file name is what you should give it.
To make sure your image doesn't get confused with any others that already exist on the site, adjust the name if needed to make it unique and descriptive.
Step 6: Pick a license.
The default Creative Commons license used across wikiHow is suitable for images you created yourself and are willing to share that way, but there is a fair use option. If you choose the third option, your image will be unlicensed and may be removed unless you provide licensing and attribution information.
Step 7: Click on the image.
Step 8: If you want, adjust the image code further.
You can paste the whole tag to a new location if the image is in the wrong place.
Step 9: To save your changes, click on Publish at the bottom of the page.
Step 10: You can reuse licensed images from other websites.
If you don't have any of your own, this is a great way to add images.Follow the directions on the How to reuse a wikiHow image page.
Step 11: If you're sure your license allows for use on a commercial site, you can import freely licensed images.
Since not all shared images online are freely licensed, you need to be careful with this option. If you've found images that are fair game to upload here, you can follow the steps in How to Import Freely Licensed Images Into wikiHow.If the image has been licensed correctly and is legal to share here, then it's a good idea to give the Attribution information.
Step 12: If you want to, you can request visuals from our team.
The visual team would be happy to add an article to their to-do list if it is already fully published and live for readers.Just leave a note on the Wikivisual talk page to make a request for images, and hang in there until they get a chance to produce images.
