How To Play PS2 Games on a PS3

You can play PS2 games if you have a PS3 model that is backwards compatible. Many popular games can be found on the PS Store if your PS3 isn't compatible with PS2 discs.Even if your model doesn't normally support it, you can use the mod to play any PS2 game.

Step 1: If your PS3 is fat, look at it.

The original PS3 design is referred to as the "fat" PS3.Some fat PS3s are backwards compatible, but not all of them. The "super slim" and "slim" models are not compatible with the past. There are 4 ports on the front. If you don't have a backwards compatible PS3 and you want to play PS2 games on it, you have to purchase and download games from the PS Store. The PS3 can be used to play PS2 games. If you do that, you will void your warranty and be banned from the network.

Step 7: You can create a PS2 virtual memory card.

The PS2 game will treat a virtual memory card as a physical card in order to save your games. You can use the PS3's XMB to do this. The XMB can be opened by pressing the PS button."Memory Card Utility" can be found in the game menu.Choose "Internal Memory Card (PS2)" if you want to add a new internal memory card. The Memory Card should be assigned to "Slot 1."The game will be able to use the new Memory Card.
