Toy cars are fun to make at home. You can get to know your inner child or bond with your children through this activity. All the materials you need are lying around the house. You can make your own toy car instead of buying one.
Step 1: The plastic bottle needs to be cleaned.
The label should be removed from the bottle.Allow the bottle to sit in hot water and dish soap for ten minutes. It will be easier to remove any remnants of the bottle if you have this.
Step 2: There are two holes in the bottle.
The holes are where the axles will go.The holes should be parallel.
Step 3: Find your shafts.
straws, sticks, toothpicks, wire, and other objects can be used for your axles. You only need two pieces if the object is long. You need four pieces if it is short.
Step 4: There are four bottle caps.
These caps will be used as your wheels.
Step 5: The car and wheels need to be painted.
The bottle and wheels can be painted. You can paint bottle and bottle caps before you assemble the car.
Step 6: The bottle has axles in it.
Depending on the material, this could be two or four. All the way through the set of holes on the other side is required for a longer object.Place one in each hole for a shorter object.
Step 7: Put a hole in the lid.
Attach a string through the lid.The knot needs to be on the inside of the lid.The plastic bottle has a lid.
Step 8: The top of the bottle needs to be cut.
Cut a rectangular or square into the bottle using a box cutter. You have to cut three sides of the shape to fold it up.Cut it so that you can flip it up.
Step 9: You can drill a hole through the plastic lids.
A hole in the center of the lids can be created using a drill or sharp object.
Step 10: Place the bottle caps on the car.
The bottle caps had holes drilled into them.Take a look at how the car sits. The car may not move if the lids are too big or small. The top of the lid should face the car to make it more stable.
Step 11: The string can be used to pull the car.
You can push the car to make it move if you don't want to use the string.
Step 12: There are four bottle caps.
Use a sharp object like a box cutter, scissors, or a knife to poke holes in the caps. The caps will be your wheels.
Step 13: There are two bamboo skewers on the carton.
The skewers should be shorter than the width of the carton. The car will be powered by the skewers. If you want the axles to run through the milk carton, you have to puncture two parallel holes on each side.
Step 14: Push the end of the skewers through the bottle caps.
The milk carton provides better stability if the top of the lid is facing it.Glue the skewer and cap together to make them stronger.Let the glue dry before you start.
Step 15: The straws should be placed on the skewers.
The free end of the skewer should be moved through the straw. The straws should be shorter than the skewer.Your car will move faster if you have the skewers in the straw.
Step 16: The skewers need to be pushed through the bottle caps.
Run the free end of the skewer through the holes if you puncture the milk carton. This is the final part of your axles.
Step 17: The milk carton has axles on it.
They should be close to the carton.
Step 18: You can change the car.
The carton can be decorated with construction paper, paint, or markers.Shapes can be cut into the milk carton.
Step 19: Take a piece of cardboard and cut it.
The piece should be by 10 cm.Using a pen or pencil, trace the measurements onto the cardboard using a piece of measuring tape.Cut along the traced line with a box cutter.
Step 20: Attach a hole to the plastic lids.
A hole can be created in the center of the lids with a drill or sharp object. The wheels for the car will be created with these.
Step 21: The straw should be cut in half.
Take each half of the straw and tape them together. The straws should be parallel to the width of the piece.
Step 22: Go through the straws with a skewer.
The skewers will hold you up.
Step 23: Attach the skewers with the lids.
The bottle cap should be facing towards the cardboard. The lid could catch on the cardboard.
Step 24: The drinking straw should be cut in half.
The pieces should be of the same length. The part of the straw that doesn't bend should be discarded.
Step 25: The balloon should be stretched.
To stretch the rubber, deflate the balloon a few times.
Step 26: Attach the balloon to the straw with a rubber band.
The straw should be placed over the elastic part of the balloon.Wrap the elastic part of the balloon with a rubber band.If the rubber band is tight, blow into the straw. The balloon should not be able to escape.
Step 27: Attach the balloon and straw to a piece of cardboard.
The axles should be on the bottom of the cardboard piece. The balloon and straw should be placed parallel to the length of the piece. The end of the straw should hang over the edge of cardboard. The straw should be taped to the cardboard.
Step 28: Take the straw and blow it.
Pick up the car and blow into the balloon. To prevent air from escaping, pinch the straw.Let go of the straw when you place the car on a flat surface. The balloon will push the car.If you want the best movement, you may have to adjust the wheels a few times.
