Miniature versions of life-sized buildings have something special about them.Children and adults can use dollhouses to light up their imaginations.A box and basic craft supplies are all you need to make a dollhouse. You can decorate the dollhouse with pretty colors and fill it with small furniture.Have fun making your own dollhouse.
Step 1: There is a box up the lengthways.
This activity can be done with any regular box.If you want a smaller project, use a small box instead of a big box.The box needs to be on one of the narrow ends.Don't keep it if it has a lid. They work well for this activity. If you want to make a dollhouse, you should use a wooden crate.
Step 2: Your dollhouse should have an A-frame roof.
To make a mark, measure the depth of the box and then the length widthways on the lid.Cut the line with scissors after drawing it.The A-frame roof is created by bending the trimmed lid in half widthways.Attach 2 5 cm pieces of sticky tape to the short edges of your dollhouse's roof.If you don't have a lid, use a piece of cardboard. An A-frame style roof can be made out of pieces of wood if you are making a dollhouse.Attach a wooden roof with super glue.
Step 3: The dollhouse's exterior can be decorated with tissue paper or paint.
You have the chance to personalize your dollhouse and make it unique. To cover the box, cut out pieces of tissue paper and stick them on the dollhouse.Paint the box or cover it with something. To make the dollhouse look realistic, draw bricks on it or cover it with paper that has a brick pattern.
Step 4: The cardboard or wood can be used to make internal walls.
Take a piece of cardboard or wood and place it at the height of the first story.Attach it with hot glue when you position it.If you repeat this step on the second story, you can create extra rooms or leave it as an open loft.Use super glue if you don't have hot glue.Leave the glue to dry.
Step 5: To make a second story, trim cardboard or wood.
Place your dollhouse on top of a piece of cardboard or wood, draw around the base to create a rectangular outline, and then cut it out.If you want to make a second story, place hot glue or super glue on the edges of the rectangle and slide it into the dollhouse and position it halfway up the box.Skip this step if you don't want a second story.
Step 6: The back of the dollhouse has doors and windows.
The flat back of the box should be facing you if you turn the dollhouse around. You can use a pen to draw a door and windows. To make the house look realistic, place at least one window in each room. The structural integrity of the dollhouse should be kept intact by leaving at least a 2 cm gap between the windows.
Step 7: You can cut out the windows with scissors or a jigsaw.
You can make a hole with the tip of the scissors or blade. This hole can be used to cut around the outline of your windows. If you can't see the pen marks, try to cut as close to the window's outline as possible.Hire a jigsaw from a hardware store if you don't own one.
Step 8: The entrance to the dollhouse can be created by cutting out the door.
Cut the top and bottom of the door so that you can open it.To cut along the door's top edge, use scissors.Cut along the long edges of the door.If you want the door to open and close like a regular door, fold it back along the other edge.If you have a dollhouse, cut out the entire door with a jigsaw. You can make the cuts on the cardboard with a craft knife.
