Your feet carry you a long way and help you maintain your posture. They may feel tired, calloused, or swollen by the end of the day.A foot spa will give your feet the attention they deserve. You can experiment with special soaks and scrubs if you know the basics.
Step 1: Relax in a relaxing environment.
Dim the lights if you want to have a foot spa.Put on some music that relaxes you.Make sure that all of your supplies are close by and ready to use if you want to light some candles.Your towels, scrubs, and socks are included. You can have a foot spa in a bedroom, bathroom or living room.Nature sounds, Zen music, and classical music are all relaxing. If you find heavy metal relaxing, then go for it.If you want a foot spa instead of a room with windows, open the curtains and let the natural light in.
Step 2: The tub should be filled with warm water.
Any plastic container that is large enough to fit both of your feet is fine.Make sure the tub is tall enough to reach halfway up your calves for a more luxurious experience. If you really want to get fancy, you can use a tub made for spas foot.Add marbles or smooth stones to the tub.You can give yourself a foot massage by rolling your feet over.
Step 3: Add the herbs, salts, or oils you want.
You can get really creative here.It can be as simple as adding a small amount of sea salt or as fancy as creating a milk bath.If you like bubbles and want to make your feet soft, try a bubble bath solution.Add 10 drops of essential oil.All of the options are great. If you want a nicer look, add some mint or rose petals. To make your feet soft, use 1 cup of powdered milk or almond oil.
Step 4: You can put your feet in the water for 10 to 15 minutes.
Pull the tub out of the chair.Put your feet into the tub by sitting down in the chair.Close your eyes and read a book.Combining the foot spa with another treatment, such as a face mask or eye mask, is possible.Make sure your feet are clean because dirty water isn't very relaxing. If they are dirty, rinse them off in the shower, bathtub, or sink.
Step 5: Exfoliating.
The 10 to 15 minutes are over.A manicure or a small body brush can be used.If you want a fancy treatment, use a homemade or store-bought foot scrub. The skin on your heels is the most calloused. If you used the foot scrub, be sure to rinse it off.If you have calloused heels, consider using a pumice stone. If you keep your feet over the tub, you will be able to splash water on them.
Step 6: A foot massage is recommended.
If you put marbles in the tub, you can roll your feet across them. You can also give yourself a foot massage using your hands. It's not necessary to stress about doing the massage correctly.Do what is best for you.
Step 7: If you want to apply a moisturizer, apply it to your feet.
Put a soft, clean towel on your feet.Next, apply some body lotion to your feet. You can use body butter, body oil, or even jojoba oil if you don't have any lotion.Put on a pair of cotton socks. These socks should be left on overnight. If you are going to give yourself a pedicure, skip the socks.
Step 8: Give yourself a pedicure.
Take care of your toenails with a manicure brush and nail clippers. To get rid of oils on your feet, wipe your toenails with nail polish remover and dry them with a clean towel.Seal your nail polish with a clear top coat after applying a base coat. Before moving on, let everything dry. Before you apply nail polish, make sure to push back your cuticles with a cuticle pusher or orange stick. It is recommended that you wait at least 45 minutes before wearing closed-toe shoes.
Step 9: A relaxing herbal soak can be created using steeped herbs.
The water should be brought to a boil.Wait 1 minute and pour over 2 ounces of dried herbs.Allow the herbs to steep for 30 to 60 minutes. The herb water should be poured into a foot tub and filled with warm water.Put your feet in the water. There are many great herbs to use.Lemon balm is revitalizing, while lavender and chamomile are relaxing. You can add the herbs to the foot soak, but you will have to rinse them off of your skin. You can make it more luxurious by adding sea salt, Epsom salt and essential oil.
Step 10: Deodorize your feet with a soak.
Pour a cup of salt into a jar.Add 2 cups of baking soda and 25 drops of essential oil.To combine the ingredients, shake the jar.If you want to soak your feet in the mixture, put it in your next foot bath. After drying off your feet, apply a moisturizer. You can use it once a week.
Step 11: Relieve achy feet with a soak.
If you fill your foot tub with warm water, you can add apple cider vinegar and sea salt.Put your feet in the tub.Prepare a second soak using cool water.Wrap a towel around your feet for 5 minutes after dipping it in the water. If your feet are particularly sore, you can use this foot soak several times. It's not the last thing you'd want to put on your feet, but it does help reduce inflammation.
