How To Honor God

Honoring God can look different depending on your background and lifestyle. If you make a good habit of living in one accord, being generous and not being seen when serving others, you can honor God in many ways.

Step 1: Begin to honor God by fear and reverence.

Fear of displeasing Him, let all the earth fear the LORD, and let the people of the world revere him.

Step 2: glory, praise, renown, distinction are words that are synonymous with honor.

Sing of the ways in which he honors God.For the glory of the LORD is great, may they sing about it.(Romans 12:1)

Step 3: They shall ask God through "love" at the judgement.

Did we see you as a stranger or as naked as we clothed you?We came to you when we saw you sick or in a prison. The King said to them, "As much as you have done to one of my little brothers, I say to you, Amen."

Step 4: Wherever you are, worship.

A room of your house can be dedicated as a place of prayer and worship. You don't have to go to worship with others. You could worship at home, alone or with others.Candles, incense, and images or statues of spiritual importance might be included in your worship. You can use items from your faith at this place. You can place items of significance or meaning in your shrine if you do not have a religion.Maintaining a healthy prayer life can be achieved by worshiping at home. You can use your worship space for a variety of purposes.

Step 5: You can meet at a place of worship.

People in the traditions of your faith should be invited to share. It is possible to enhance your feeling of awe by worshiping with others.Awe is a sense of being small in the face of a purpose.People who experience awe in creation are more likely to help others. There are many places of worship that have inspiring art and teachings. They often contain and teach symbols of the faith. The people are at the meeting place.

Step 6: Practice prayer and meditation.

You can regulate your emotions with prayer and meditation. In order to reinforce a positive self image, prayer can act as an invisible social support. If you practice prayer, pray at all times, or find a quiet place to talk to God about your concerns, you will be better off.A prayer journal is a good idea. When you journal, you can sort through the emotional pain in your life and find the things that matter to you.Studies show that patients with life threatening diseases benefit from keeping journals.Constantly practice prayer, meditation, and spiritual awareness. These require that you channel a connection with a larger presence and stop thinking about random things.

Step 7: Don't do things for attention or notice, but for the sake of others.

Good actions can be performed for others more casually.Helping others can increase your appreciation, enjoyment, enlightenment and quality of life.Change up the small, nice things you do for others. How can you live a more humble life, without pressing for minor desires and grievances, if you put others needs with yours?Make food for a hungry person, not just a friend or family member, as nicely holding the door open for someone, and be a productive and thoughtful co-worker.

Step 8: You can volunteer with a group that helps people.

Make sure you take the time to find a good match. You should look into volunteer work that meshes with your interests. You can try local places of worship or charity, use the Yellow Pages under "Volunteer Center", or look online at Volunteer Match.org to find opportunities in your area.Consider volunteering at a school.Translating for immigrants, if you speak another language, coaching a team, cleaning up, and working at a local hospital, old folks home, or clinic.

Step 9: Don't over commit!

It's difficult to serve others well if you commit to helping others. You want to be able to do good things for others. It's a good idea to take some time to think about whether you have the time.If you've already committed, you might want to finish a portion of the work and then try again.Talk openly about what's going on with you.If you communicate honestly with others, they will respect you. When you have time to volunteer again, go for it.If you had to take a break, volunteer again.

Step 10: Ask someone to help you out.

Doing things with others helps provide motivation for the work you want to do.It can help you bond as a friend in the work experience you will have, as well as the new people that you might meet.Consider volunteering with your family, spouse or significant other. This kind of work can help create a sense of purpose outside of yourselves and give your relationships a healthy perspective.

Step 11: Accept your limitations and opportunities.

Be aware of who you are and what you can do.The more you honor God, the less you have to prove yourself.Own your responsibilities when you experience conflict.Accepting your faults will allow you to learn from your mistakes. If your friend is angry at you for being late, don't be defensive.I want to become more aware of my time, so I apologize.Seeing and owning your problems can help you overcome them.Positive changes in your habits can be made with this positive attitude.

Step 12: If you want God to give to you, give grace beyond what people deserve.

Accept and don't dwell on your mistake, but instead focus on the things you can do to give God's saving grace and improve your life in concrete ways.

Step 13: Don't think about yourself too much.

Favor yourself with kindness, rightness, humility, grace and peace, not tricking or cheating, but loving others advancement and their good marks. One can be more connected with others if they worry less about themselves.Putting off the self for the others is a way to honor God's creation.

Step 14: Show your gratitude.

A sense of gratitude is created by things other people do and say. When you become aware of your dependence on the people. You will be able to realize that it is not all about you if you thank people and share all the hope, peace and other resources that you have. You can improve your psychological well being by keeping a gratitude journal.Write down three things you are thankful for.Write your gratitude on the daily.

Step 15: Encourage others to share and do their part to avoid self-centering but to be open to growth and sharing empowerment.

You can deny yourself some prerogatives when you are free from being the center of attention.A stronger community is able to work toward a common good. When you know how to build up others sense of achievement, you can become a powerful leader.Buddha, Gandhi, Jesus Christ, Martin Luther King, and Muhammad are some of the spiritual leaders who have lived.

Step 16: Don't expect to be rewarded, thanked or praised for good activities.

A person acting entitled indicates he or she should get things for doing well. One will end up resentful or bitter if they feel like they're deserving of something but aren't getting it.Being stuck thinking about things one doesn't have makes it hard to have a good attitude and love others. If you don't feel like you're owed anything, you can work more freely for other people.

Step 17: Practice service, helping the weak, and don't care about impressiveness or unrealistic, "upward mobility" or deceitful riches for what would profit a person if he gains the World but loses his soul?

Don't worry about your failures, just keep going and make them temporary.Rather than grooming and sharing irritations, aim at working well and worrying less about yourself.Worship God by service to the common or poor people if you want to concentrate on the bigger picture.

Step 18: You don't have all of the answers.

People who are modest are more tolerant of others.People who are humble do not need to be defensive about their beliefs.Being patient and listening to other beliefs and ideas can honor God even when you experience hardship. You will learn more about God and yourself as a result of this.

Step 19: It's up to you to let peace and good things happen.

Get out of the way of God's work by working for voluntary community and in groups at places of worship.

Step 20: Expect and appreciate other's knowledge in the faith in different ways.

Good faith and goodwill should be rewarded by graciousness and sincere sympathy in times of grief and good times.Giving credit to other people, accepting what they can offer, and enjoying time with others in fellowship are ways to honor God.
