Ensure that the product covers the person's entire head, as close to the scalp as possible. There is a shower cap on the person. It should be as tight as possible. For at least eight hours, keep the cap on their hair.
Step 8: Remove the shower cap.
The person's hair needs to be washed. This should remove the smothering agent from the hair.Kitchen soap can be used for greasy substances. The hair needs to be combed with a comb.Dead bugs and eggs can be removed. If you want to learn how to use the lice comb, see Get Rid of Head Lice Naturally. It's time to wash hair once more.

Use your comb to separate the hair.Check the sections for eggs. Also look for dead insects.Try a different treatment or use a prescription from your doctor if you still find lice after your second treatment.Don't allow lice to be treated in any way.
Step 12: You should see a doctor.
You might need a follow-up appointment if you discover lice after seeing the doctor. You should visit your doctor if you don't see improvement within three weeks. If your child is itching her head and the skin breaks, she could get an illness.Seek medical treatment if you suspect this. There are drugs that can be used to treat head lice.OTC is available while a prescription is required. If one of the treatments is not effective, you may have to try a different one. Before you use any of these treatments, make sure you speak with your doctor.Permethrin 1% cream, Malathion 0.5% lotion, Pyrethrin, benzyl alcohol, Spinosad, and Ivermectin are all prescription only.
