It seems like crepes taste better when they are folded on your plate.It is possible to recreate the restaurant experience at home by folding your own crepes, and it is not as complicated as it looks.Three of our favorite ways to fold crepes have been chosen.
Step 1: If you want to cover your crepe with filling, place it on a plate.
Lift your crepe from the pan and place it on a wide plate to cool for a few minutes.You can spread your filling over the crepe with a spoon or ladle, or you can use a knife.The space around the edges should be left 2–3 in.
Step 2: The crepe should be folded in half.
Lift one side of the crepe and fold it over the other to cover the filling.The edges should match up as evenly as possible.The semicircle should be on one side of the plate.
Step 3: To make a triangle, scoop up the top edge of the crepe and fold it over.
Lift your crepe with your spatula.Place your other hand over the lifted section and slowly guide it down, creating a 3 in triangle-shaped section that follows the circular edge of the crepe.Make it line up neatly by adjusting the edges.To make a neater fold, use the edge of your spatula to mark a faint fold line on the crepe, then fold the section over.
Step 4: Continue folding it to make thicker triangles.
If you want to make the same triangle shape, fold the crepe over again and slide your spatula under it.A neat stack of triangle folds can be created by folding down the crepe.When you get to the end, fold over whatever is left; it could be smaller than the rest of the triangles.Don't fret!You won't see the bottom of the crepe.
Step 5: You can serve your crepe on a plate or wrapped in paper.
Wrap your crepe in a sheet of deli paper so that the curved top edge sticks out.Lift the crepe onto a plate and enjoy.If it is sweet, you can serve the crepe with fruit or whipped cream.
Step 6: The filling should be spread in a thin layer.
You don't want to spread the filling all the way to the tip of the crepe if you fold this way.Instead, spoon your filling on and spread it into a thin layer in the center of the crepe.To spread the filling thinly and evenly, use a knife or rubber spatula.
Step 7: One edge should go towards the middle.
If you want to start your hexagon folds, you need to cover some of the filling by folding the unfilled edge into the middle.The edge is 2–3 inches long.
Step 8: Continue folding the crepe until you have 6 sides.
The crepe should be turned and folded right next to the first one.To make puffy folds in the crepe, overlap them just slightly.Continue until you have 6 "sides" to your crepe.
Step 9: Keep it all together by pinching the middle.
Once you have folded your crepe, pinch it in the middle to maintain its shape.
Step 10: Attach a knife and fork to your crepe.
The easiest way to eat your hexagonal crepe is on a plate with utensils since it might fall apart or get messy if you try to wrap it up or eat it with your hands.Enjoy the crepe while it's still warm.You can add more things to your crepe.Adding a whipped cream or sprinkling almonds on top is a great way to make a crepe.You can serve vegetables with a crepe.
Step 11: Spread the filling over the crepe.
If you want to roll up your crepe, you should spread your filling in a thin, even layer to the edges of the crepe.To smooth it out, use a knife or rubber spatula, and make sure that the filling reaches the tip of the crepe.
Step 12: The left and right sides should be folded.
Simply fold both sides into the center to start your crepe.The filling should stay inside if the folds overlap slightly.
Step 13: The crepe should be rolled from the bottom.
The bottom of the crepe should be folded over the folded halves.Roll the crepe away from you until you get to the end.The crepe should look like a small taco when you finish it.
Step 14: You can eat the crepe on a plate.
You can eat at home or on the go with the rolled crepe method.You can either cut it on a plate or wrap it in deli paper and eat it with your hands.If you eat the crepe on a plate, you can add extras like sliced nuts and whipped cream for a sweet treat or cooked vegetables if you prefer.
