Are you under the age of 18?Are you flying solo? Are you nervous?Don't worry. There are some things you can do to get through your experience and land safely.
Step 1: Information about your flight should be memorised.
This includes the airline, your flight's gate, departure time, estimated arrival time and your seat number.Write this down on a card and put it in a jacket or purse. It's a good idea to write it down on a slip of paper and put it in your phone case.
Step 2: Light.
You don't want to be weighed down with too much luggage. There is entertainment for the flight if you pack a small suitcase or medium-sized bag.If your luggage gets lost, delayed, or stolen, you should have any medication you might need, such as Ibuprofen for headaches or stomachache relief, spare glasses, hearing aids, toothbrush, gum, and lollipop.
Step 3: If you need help, get it.
Make sure the flight attendant on the plane can help you in case of an emergency or if you need to be evacuated. If you are blind or limited in mobility, make sure you can get to the bathroom easily.Inform a flight attendant if you can't.If you can't reach the alert button, some planes have flight-attendant cords to pull.
Step 4: You need to bring a cell phone.
You need to make sure you can receive a call and place one. It's important to communicate with your parents at the end of the flight.
Step 5: Make sure your carry-on bag and suitcase look different.
If your bag has a colorful ribbon around the handle or a strip of duct tape across the front, you will be able to tell if it is yours or someone else's.
Step 6: If you take off on your flight, label it.
Put your name on the tag of your sweater and shoes. This could prevent people from walking off with them.
Step 7: You should pack a purse, pack, or small carry-on bag.
You should keep your ticket, cell phone, passport, and cash in your purse.Don't allow it to leave until you reach your destination.
Step 8: If your flight is long, wear comfortable clothes.
It takes a long time for something to be put back on after being removed for security.
Step 9: Take your luggage with you to the baggage check.
If your suitcase is fixed with labels, leave it with airport employees.
Step 10: Walk with purpose.
If you were dropped off at the airport, make it look like you know where you are going and are determined to get there, even if you're not quite sure where to go.If you get lost, ask for help.
Step 11: You should be efficient at the security check-point.
Before you get to the line, remove your shoes and sweater. If you can, load your belongings into a bin and carry the bin to the line to speed up the process.Ensure that you have everything when you leave security.
Step 12: You have to make your way to the gate.
You can buy gum at convenience stores if you forget something. If you haven't already purchased breakfast or lunch, this is a good time to do so.
Step 13: Don't leave your purse or carry-on unattended.
You can keep them next to you in line for coffee or a magazine if you bring them into the bathroom stall with you.
Step 14: When you are called, get on the plane.
The flight attendant is speaking. You don't want to miss something.
Step 15: If you need help, look to the attendants.
Don't hesitate to call a flight attendant if someone on the flight makes you uncomfortable. You are a minor.
Step 16: The safety video should be watched closely.
You need to know what to do in an emergency.
Step 17: You need to eat and drink on the plane.
When the cart arrives, get a drink and a snack.Don't eat a meal if it's being served. You don't want to be thirsty.Listen to your body.If the food is gross and you get sick easily, don't eat the meal at all.
Step 18: Don't worry about flying alone.
Try to sleep.Distract yourself from books and other things.Eat some pretzels. It's a good idea to drink some soda.
Step 19: Take everything from your seat when you land.
Throw away any garbage.Don't leave anything behind. You don't want to lose your sweater if you're feeling warm.
Step 20: Someone else can open the overhead compartment for you.
You will be safe from falling objects if items up above shift during the flight.
Step 21: If you leave the plane with all of your stuff, call a friend or relative to pick you up.
Inform them that you will be at the baggage carousel when you leave the plane.
Step 22: If you want to know where the baggage carousel is, look at signs.
If you don't have luggage from your flight, you'll be standing there for a long time.
Step 23: You should make contact with your ride.
When you get your luggage, call the person you're meeting and ask where they want to meet you.If they tell you to go, stay at the baggage claim.Don't leave with people you're not familiar with.
Step 24: You need to check in with your parents.
Call your parents when you are walking to meet them and let them know that you landed safely and have all your luggage.Parents appreciate the last part.
