How to fix locationSQL server Installation is not a valid installation folder.
The C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft SQL server is not a valid installation folder, I tried other drives, but still no result.
There is an error path in the image of the SQL server installation center.
Select the installation media root directory and browse to the folder with the.msi file.
I received an installation from a corporate push.Set the installation media folder when you run setup.exe as Administrator. There was an error message.
The setup directory was excluded in my case due to the corporate push. The use of the installation media folder was enabled by copying the file to my setup folder.
If you only have the installation center, you can't install the server. You need the.iso file for the image file.
If you want to open the.iso file or extract it, you can click the Setup.exe from the folder in which you got it.It will be running fine after that.

The below method works well for me.I created the solution myself after looking at several thread and answers that didn't work for me.
If you close the popup that says 'Setup canceled by user' it will uninstall the original installation files.
If you want to provide the same path when it asks for installation media, run the setup.exe from the files you copied.
You update the edition of the server from Express to Developer. The problem is that "SQL SERVER Installation Center" was not updated and now it appears as if there is no folder at all.
I show in my image that the installation center uses a path that is not used in the setup of the server.
