A Howdens kitchen can be a sleek, modern addition to your home, but it might not seem that way when it is disassembled in your living space. Not to be worried! To get the job done, Howdens offers in-depth instructions and video instructions. The following questions and answers can help you understand the basics of the project.
Step 1: An official time estimate is not listed on the Howdens website.
It takes about 3-6 days to fit a kitchen, with smaller kitchens possibly taking less time than that, according to similar sources.Howdens cabinets come pre-assembled, but there is a lot of extra assembly required before your kitchen is installed and ready to go.
Step 2: The drawers and towers need to be set up first.
You don't need to worry about modifying your cabinets because they are already assembled. The installation manual will show you the brackets, joints, and profiles you need for your kitchen set.The metal sections of the profiles help connect your kitchen. The brackets help attach the profiles to the cabinets. The drawers are connected to the external corners of the kitchen with the help of brackets. If you decide to modify your own cabinets, you don't need cabinet jigs.
Step 3: Special brackets are needed to connect the worktop profile to the cabinet.
The back of the worktop profile has 2 grooves along it.The L-shaped portion of your cabinet should be lined up with the profile and brackets. To hold it in place, drill two 4x30mm screws into the top of the brackets.Once the profile is secured, you will hear a clicking sound.
Step 4: Attach the brackets to the drawer profiles.
When you hear a clicking sound, align the brackets along the back grooves of the drawer profile. The brackets should be positioned next to the cabinet side panels. To hold the screws in place, drill two 4x30mm screws into the sides of the brackets.
Step 5: There are brackets on the back of the tower profiles.
Click the grooves in the back of the tower profile.Align the profile on the right side of the tower.Attach 2 spacer rails to the left of each profile, using 1 screw to hold each rail in place. There is a gap between different sections of your kitchen.A standard tower needs 5 brackets on each profile, while a tall tower requires 6 brackets.3.5x20mm screws are used to hold the brackets and rails in place. The center of mid tower profiles is where the brackets are aligned.
Step 6: The adjustment brackets are needed to adjust the cabinets.
The components are located in the upper left and right corners of your cabinets. One of the screws will be on the front, and the other in the back.
Step 7: The cabinet can be moved closer or further from the wall by turning the front screw.
To push the cabinet tighter against the wall, use a Philip's head screwdriver and twist the front-facing screw clockwise. To remove the cabinet from the wall, turn the screwdriver clockwise.
Step 8: The cabinets can be raised or lowered by using the bottom screw.
Turn this screw clockwise to lift your cabinet. The screw should be twisted counterclockwise to bring the cabinet down.
Step 9: The kitchen tower has ovens and microwaves.
Stack 2 double ovens on top of one another if you choose to install a single oven or single microwave. If you want the best of both worlds, install a microwave on top of a single oven.
Step 10: There are fridges, freezers, and dishwashers under the kitchen sink.
Metal rails go along the top of your appliances.
Step 11: The oven needs to be put into the specially vented profile.
The built-in slots for oven vent are what Howdens calls a Built Under Oven Housing profile. The oven should be secured with metal jointing plates along the top of the appliance.
